| Well as u may remember daves mum has promised us a wedding and also money towards a car so dave called her yesterday 2 find out what kind of money we were able to start looking at cars (leaving it till the last minute) and she now turns around and says that its either a wedding or money towards a car so straight away we need a car not a wedding so she then sayd well £800 for a car !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So thats everything out the window god knows what we gonna do now |

| How much did she say they were gonna give you in the 1st place?
Do you have a car atm that you can trade in? We switched cars when I was 39 wks pg (last min too!!!) and I got a meriva for £2k + traded in my peugeot 106. (Would have been £2800). Could you get an older car to see you through?
If you'd picked wedding was she only going to give you £800 too? Its still a lot of money but I understand if someone told you they were going to pay for a wedding you'd expect maybe a cpl of grand. Maybe she thought £800 would pay for a registry office and small family meal in a pub after? Case of crossed wires? |

| I mean as awful as it is dad passing away and all that but these things were promised b4 that even happened it was a case of we want 2 c u all enjoy our money b4 we go rather than leaving it 2 u kinda thing!! And thats how it all came about she offered us the wedding we werent even thinking of getting married but 1 ay she just called me and said I want to pay 4 ur wedding!!! WOW ok so we left it a week decided do we really want to etc and decided that a car was needed rather than a wedding so we asked her how much r u capping the cost at (expecting 3 - 4k mayb) Thats when she said well if it costs 10k so b it!! OMG ok so thats how things came about doin the wedding on the chep but half decent with family + meal that job done and what was left could we put it towards a car as we really need 1 baby arriving
and then that happened just last week well we r both gobsmacked 2 say the least so now what 2 do and the tax is due on the car end of this month!! |

| OMG that is totally out of order. I don't know what to say! Does she know how you feel (ie given the choice you'd have gone car not wedding but thinking you could have both you'd gone down the wedding route and now you can afford neither?). Not being funny or anything but you can't afford naff all on £800 for a car - maybe an untaxed Y Reg Fiesta 3-door but nothing even slightly useful as a family car! What a cow |
