It's no good, I have to grumble, can't keep it in any longer! This guy on ebay is doing my nut in. I sold an electric toothbrush to him over a month ago and in my ad put that it was an unwanted xmas present, knew straight away it wasn't the one I wanted (knew before I got it actually), hadn't opened the box, not even looked inside, was going to take it back to Debenhams (it had Deb's security sticker on it) but nothing I Wanted to exchange it for etc.
The guy buys it for a reasonable price and when he gets it he waits about a week then complains that the box had been opened. Well actually it hadn't been opened, it's just that the boxes on these things aren't sealed shut, just a foldy flap thing. Then he says the battery should have a low charge to it but hasn't, he thinks I've used it before selling it. Even says he can't smell toothpaste but isn't certain it hasn't been messed with!
I'm as nice as I can be, reassure him it was brand new, no point me taking it out, it wasn't the one I wanted etc. Fine. Silence from him for a couple of weeks, then he starts again - he's charged it up and it works fine but can I reimburse him for a replacement head cos he didn't want to use the "possibly used" one in the box. He said if I do that then he will happily leave positive feedback for the transaction.
Well this proper irritated me, I'd been as nice as possible, in the meantime I'd bought the toothbrush I wanted and it came in a box, without a seal, without any charge in the battery - exactly as I'd sold the first one. I told him this, he wasn't happy. I told him ebay takes a dim view of people soliciting goods in return for positive feedback and I was considering raising a dispute thingy.
He was incensed by this and has raised a dispute. The rules of the dispute (I didn't know) are that you have to then continue to battle it out until ebay see fit to intervene. So I've had harassment from this man at least once a day, sometimes twice or three times, every day since. He is convinced I've sold him a used toothbrush. I know in my heart I would never do such a thing. But now of course I wish I'd shat on it before posting.
I'm heavily pregnant, getting really fed up with this, finding it very upsetting that someone would make such an accusation in the first place let along go off on one like this. And I have a horrible feeling ebay are going to rape me for it too. The protection information is all about protecting the buyer not the seller - don't know what happened to "innocent till proven guilty".
I've written to ebay in their "customer feedback" section but of course I can't link this to my dispute and they haven't responded either so all that has done is wind me up further. I just want it to go away.
In the meantime I have a ton of stuff I want to sell on ebay but don't dare put it on while all this shit is going on so my living room looks like a junk shop just when I feel like nesting and getting the house aby-ready.
Just a grumble, cos I'm feeling all fed up and sorry for myself. No need to reply.
