| Hello, thought I'd pop my rather long birth story on here for all you lovely ladies. . Well on the Friday morning I thought my waters had gone as I got up off my bed and felt a pop and a trickle and I didn't need the toilet :/ So as I already had an antenatel appointment at 9am I just made my way there with Rob, only for them to tell us it wasn't my waters and I was only 2cms dilated still. So I spoke to my consultant about bringing my induction foward to Weds 10th October, she did a sweep, then we went to Pizza Hut to treat Harry, started feeling really strong contractions while I was there (not strong enough to stop me eating though lol) every ten minutes... Friday night I think I managed about 2 hours sleep because of the contractions, they were every six minutes, and all in my hips and back they were horrible, took some paracetamol and tried to potter about, had my grandparents over and other family for a little lunch cos they wanted to see Harry before his bday, all the while contractions were still only six minutes apart but lasting a lot longer. By tea time the pain was really getting to me so I rang triage and went in, still only two cms but she could see I was in pain so gave me some co-codamol, and sent me back home. No sleep at all on Saturday night because they were every four minutes lasting longer than a minute... By Sunday afternoon I couldn't walk with the pain, Harry was with my bro so my mum took us in again and they were every 3 minutes by this point. She could see I was in a lot of pain, so she was really apologetic when she told me yet again that I was still only 2cms dilated, well by that point I just said well I'm not going anywhere till I've had this baby, something isn't right you will have to just induce me now I can't walk properly. I knew what contractions felt like I was induced with Harry and made it till five cms, and those contractions were nothing compared to what I was having now so why the hell was I only 2 cms?? Anyway they called the doctor as she didnt think it was right either and as he examined me my waters broke all over him :/ nice lol, anyway that was about 11pm Sunday night, and they took me down the the labour ward, I was contracting every 2 mins and they were absolute agony all in my hips and my back and legs aswell, they gave me gas and air and checked me again after an hour and I was still only 2 cms!! I'd really had enough by this point and they were talking about a section anyway because baby's heartbeat wasn't good and my blood pressure was 195/120 every time they took it - they gave me something to lower my blood pressure and took me down to theatre for the section. Little Thomas was born at 2.45am and only weighed 6lb 15 [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] he was gorgeous, but he was really cold and they said he smelt and so did my placenta and that my waters must have gone on the friday when I thought they did! They had to take his blood sugar levels and his temp for 12 hours after his birth to make sure he was ok. So it was a bit traumatic for me and I'm never ever doing it again lol, I just know my cervix hates me!! Anyway heres a pic of him for those of you not on my FB [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |
