After the whole 'rumor incident' that I posted about yesterday, I went to see my parents (although dad was walking the dog ) and asked my mum whats been said. It turns out that someone has told my mum that when I go into labour/go to hospital we will get a friend to look after Libby, well this is true, and that it has really hurt them because they 'should' be the first to be asked. I said well my friend can drop anything at a drop of a hat, she still lives with her mum and dad, isn't seeing anyone and doesn't mind being called any time of the day or night. Well it was just going back and forth and in the end I just came home, couldn't be bothered with having to explain myself over and over and sitting there feeling like a little girl that's done something wrong Surely it's down to me and Simon who looks after Libby and we shouldn't have to explain our every fricking decision?

Well we've decided that as soon as the baby is born the bungalow is going on the market and we are leaving!!!

it had crossed my mind what it had to do with them over who cares for ur child or not ?? but i didnt wanna sound nasty!

try not to let them get to you. like you say its upto you who looks after your child and you have your reasons for it not to be them

It is up to you but in your parents defence i know mine would be exactly the same!! They absolutely love looking after Lily and i think they would not understand why i didnt ask them. I am not saying you are wrong by the way but maybe they are just a bit disappointed cos they had assumed they would be having her and were looking forward to it or something?!

they were probably upset because they didnt hear it from you, im sure it'll blow over. xx

Im sorry that it didnt go that well.

My parents would be exactly the same, but I would also feel the same as you do, it is entirely your choice who looks after Libby when you are in labour and you want to do what you are happy with. Its not a time in your life when you want to be stressing about who can/cant get there, so your friend seems like a good choice.

I have got 3 sets of parents on standby when I go into labour and tbh, I dont really want any of them doing it!

Thanks everyone - of course my parents are upset because they automatically assumed they would have her, I understand that. But saying that if we asked my parents, would it be fair on Simon's parents? Grrrr I don't know, I hope it will blow over, I'm going round there on Saturday morning so we'll see how they are then. xxx

My mum has automatically assumed that they are looking after gracie when i have my next one but what she cant understand is that i want a home birth so that i can have gracie at home with me and have cuddles with both my babies straight after.

My mum has already told me its selfish becuase i could be putting a new baby at risk and that she should at least be here to look after gracie

Ah Suzi - that would be the ideal solution but with me having pre eclampsia with Libby it's a definate no no xx

Oh no why do they do the emotional blackmail thing?? Stick with what you think is right hun, you need to relax and concentrate on having your baby without worrying about your LO too!!

My MIL insisted she would look after Lottie when I went into labour and told everyone...then booked a holiday for the day AFTER my due date!!

yeah because they always come on time dont they lol - its not like your waiting for a royal mail delivery with a date and time slot lol

I know!!!! I said 'Oh so I will need to sort something else out then?' and was like 'You'll have had it by then won you???'

She left on the saturday and I went into labour on the Sunday Mwah ha ha ha!!!
