i had an awful headache/ear ache yestoday, its feeling better today but now my eye feels swollen and twitchy and my tastebuds have gone on the left side of my tongue, i mean is that about??

Sounds like something allergic that antihistamines may help though, try to keep cool and hope it eases soon for you! If not a trip to gp may be called for xx

xhasnt helped, i dont like it couldnt even taste my choccy cake, and i dont mean just a bit i mean like couldnt taste a thing...i dont have a blocked nose or anything im so confused it feels gross and my eye is all errm i dunno, dry and irritating and twitchy...all on the left side x

Do you have any small bumps on your tongue, like ulcers? Could be a sign of a virus or similar - but if it's starting to interfere with chocolate cake that's pretty serious...

Seriously though I'd have thought that if antihistamines don't touch it then that kind of rules out anything allergic, like hayfever / new foods / fabric softener / dust etc.

It could be the start of something to do with your sinuses - nose, eyes, ears etc. all being all linked - something in your tubes maybe. If so you could try a steam inhalant (bowl of hot water and towel and maybe try and put some menthol crystals or vicks in it too). If it's viral it's a case of riding it out, if bacterial and infection based then it's gp's for antibiotics?

Not sure about your sense of taste but I do know if you can't smell, you can't taste - as they work in the same way.

ahh no...my gran said it could be blocked taste ducts/buds as that would explain the ear ache yestoday, and the neck pain aparentley, but i dont have any swelling which usually comes with that
i can smell fine, just taste, i will try the steamy water thing though. iv rung nhs direct to see if they can give me any ides...reckon it may be something viral though xx

well im currently sat in AnE, the out of hours gp sent me here as the whole left side of my face is going paralysed...wtf is going on, i cant even open my eye as its so sensative

As I said on FB, OMG Gemz!!! Could it be something like Bells Palsy? One of my school friends had it and after a few weeks was right as rain, but I know it's not pleasent. You're deffo right to got to A+E hun, hope you feel better mega quick! xxx

my friend had bells palsy a few months ago and her eye wouldn't stop twitching, she was fine after her meds though. Hope youre ok honey x

yep its bells palsy, i feel ok just rather annoying and embarrasing i have to wear an eye patch and take steroids for a week then hopefully after 2 weeks should start to get better but can take up to 6 months...feel like such an idiot cant believe i panicked lol thanx for the messages xx
