From about 8mths Caitlin loved the Baby Touch books by ladybird. We got them in Tesco. They quite large boardbooks, with bright pictures & feely bits. There's different ones eg Peekaboo, Noisy book, Squeaky book etc... She still looks at them now.
Caitlins faves from around 10 mths were-
We're going on a bear hunt
We're going on a lion hunt (just got this recently, pretty similar story)
Wibbly pig books. Very simple short stories. We got a box set from a bookclub. Theyre by Mick inkpen and are definitly Caitlins fave at the mo, I read one about presents at least 5 times a day

She also likes the small hardbooks, you know the ones that you can get in little box sets with 5/6 books in them. She likes holding them herself and flicking through them. She has different ones from simple words to ITNG.
Basically you cant go wrong with a short, annoyingly repetative, brightly coloured, hardbook!
