| my 9 year old son wanted a scooter for xmas ,, your run of the mill metal thing with plastic wheels ! it was gonna be 100 quid i have opted against it for reasons following ,, will get nicked/damaged/broken apart/stolen ! i have just bought him a laptop as my 2 sons share a laptop and cause arguments ! thing is its second hand ,,, am i being really cheap ? |

| I dont think so - I think a laptop for a 9 year old a good idea, it doesnt matter thats its used, he will still learn lots with it! More than he will from 2 days on his scooter than bored with it! |

| I'm sure he'll get more use out of the laptop. I've a 13 year old and a shed containing 4 bikes and god knows how many other wheeled things! He only uses one bike! |

| i think so too ,,,my older son will get the laptop they share to himself plus i have already bought him a digital camera and a tony hawkes wireless skate board for his xbox so really does even out in cost
