Operation went well yesterday and ive just got home. They had to put two metal plates into my wrist to fix it!! I was out for about 3 hrs so think operation was quite complex. Anyhoo no chalk as theyve managed to fix the break with the plates (which stay in my arm 4eva!) Im bandaged up in a sling - just chillin. hubby is at work n alfie stayed over at my aunties last night so gonna try n get some sleep. Ive got paracetamol, ibuprofen, codeine and diclofenic (sp?).

Missing Alfie like mad but not seeing him til Gav picks him up tonight cos im not able to do anything. i gotta rest for 24 hrs.

Dunno how im gonna cope with just 1 arm - but gotta be done!!!

the anaesthetic was so weird - first time i had one n i cant remember a thing - which i guess is the whole point!

Um did you say you have ibuprofen AND diclofenac? You shouldnt be taking those together they are both non steroidals. Id check with Lisa Monaghan but im sure its not good. Of the two use the diclofenac

yeah soz theyd gave me ibuprofen yesterday n diclofenic today so ive gotta use the diclofenic for at least the first week n then switch to ibuprofen if still need them x

Hope your not in too much pain but you sound like you've got a good mix there to keep you high Must be hard not seeing Alfie but try and rest.

How are you managing to type so well btw? Even with two working hands I frequently miss letters and type nonsense! x

ive got Alfieback now - cudnt stand him being away any longer!! hes not well - snotty nose, dehydrated n twisty!!i managed to give him afew bum pats n he was straight to sleep!!!

You will be amazed how quickly you adapt. I ended up in a cast for 6 weeks in 2004 for a bennetts fracture which is a cast where the thumb is also in plaster so couldnt even use a pincer grip and got really good at doing things one handed in the end
