| was spent with an old lady who can hardly walk, so I took her shopping to town. We went in all sorts of shops and she bought clothes, I helped her with her trousers trying on, went to Wilkos and then M&S for her weeks food - it was the first time in a very long time that she had been able to pick her own food!
She was SO grateful and wanted to pay me more than what I said, which I was having none of.
It was so nice to do a job where the person is pleased & grateful that you helped them - she said its been so long since she was taken shopping and was cared for the whole time and was able to exactly what she wanted.
I have worked in IT for so long where where most of the people were selfish no-bodys on the end of the phone who didn't care if you'd bent over backwards to fix something for them - so long as you fixed it before the 2 hours was up!
It might only pay me a fraction of what I was getting...but I'd take this any day! |

| Yeh its sad, she has 2 grown up sons but they live 3-4 hours away, she has only ever seen her 3yr old grandson once :-( Her neighbours don't give her the time of day and she cant get out on her own
If I didn't need to earn money I'd do it for free
Next week I am taking her to the big garden centre cos i think they have the christmas gifts and decorations out

| lisa i think thats lovely what you did for that lady ! i used to work in an care home and it got right on my nerves the amount of time the elderly were given basic needs and then left in their rooms , many without visitors ! ts a job i couldnt go back to , i found it too upsetting and i was much younger and having 2 babies at home i felt like my days were just going from one end of the scale to the other x |

| Lisa I registered with a cleaning agency - and this lady wanted me to do 2 hours cleaning on a thursday via the agency, then asked if I'd take her shopping on a wednesday too
so its random really, Im going to be doing some gardening for her too. |
