So today I was at Mara's house having a coffee. Abbie, being the mischievous monkey she is, climbs into a car seat in the kitchen and stands up. A split second later she had tipped the car seat over and smacked her face onto the floor.

I picked her up as I thought she had banged her face/nose etc. I couldn't see anything but then she opened her mouth and it as FULL of blood!! Abbie was screaming and I just froze. Thankfully Mara came to my rescue, she took hold of Abbie and walked to the sink and tried to swill her mouth.

Within seconds there was blood everywhere, all over Abbie, all down Mara and some on me . Calmly Mara told me we should go to the hosp just to get her checked out. She rounded up Archie, Lottie and Sam and we all got into her bus. A few mins later we arrived at the hospital, and I took her into A&E. In the rush I took my bag with me and Mara had left hers at home so she had no money for parking, but she managed to sweet talk the car park attendant to let her park for free.

Anyway - Abbie is fine, though she has a huge gash on her tongue the doc said it should clear up within a few days, and she keeps rolling her tongue in her mouth!!

We got back to Maras and cleaned up the blood and within minutes Abbie was back at the car seat trying to climb into it again!!!!

So here is a big public thankyou to Mara for helping me out today and keeping calm!!!!

(oh and I have had a word with Abbie and told her we don't want any more trips to A&E!!)

it is amazing how calm you can be when its not your child. whenever hannah falls I stand there with my mouth gaping open like a fool.

Oh BTW people with red hair bleed more!! The doc told me this, she said if someone with red hair has surgery they have more blood on hand just in case!!

Aw Pepsi i am just so glad she is ok. I can honestly say i have never ever seen a child bleed so much!! It waas literally gushing from her mouth the poor babe.

Im sure ive heard that somewhere before about red heads bleeding more. very interesting actually
