Just found my voucher and it expires on Tue . Im not too panicked as I know that the govt go ahead and invest it somewhere of their choosing. Did a bit of research tonight and they will pick a stakeholder account which seems has a little bit of risk but not too bad. Iv never been fussed about using the voucher, Iv always thought that its not going to make much £ anyway, I'l probably not be able to add to much to it and it will just sit unthought about for 18 years. If I have another child they wont get it so eventually when im stable id like to set up a joint savings account for both of them.... Tonight though Iv got ants in my pants and really want to pick myself were I put it. I found a few that you can apply online but not sure if you then need to send the voucher in before closing date (in which case iv left it too late). This is probably the wrong attitude but atm I wouldnt mind picking one were you get £20 vouchers for boots/mothercare/M&S etc, but not have to set up a DD monthly top up. Has anyone opened a good one recently? Or did anyone leave it so late the gov invested it for them and they happy anyway? x

You don't need to send the voucher if you do it with the Post Office, yuo type the details off the voucher and they do it that way - I know cos I too left it til the very last minute!

we went with the yorkshire building society but i dunno anything about it i left it to hubby haha i just wanted to say we have a standing order for a tenner a month which isnt much but it adds up - we also have an instant access account in elijah's name which his child benefit goes straight into, so at least there is a little pocket of money for him and some for emergencies that we can get to!

We have Flick's CTF in the Post Office and it has gone up a little. We don't add anything to it, just in case we end up losing loads of money. Will set her up an account in Jan to save money for her xxx
