Chloe just got her finger trapped in the door really badly you know the bit where the hinges are and it really squashed it, well it's 10 mins later and she's still crying when she touches it, even turned down chocolate. I'm worried she's broken it, If I take her to A &E can they do anything for it? I haven;t got a bloody car this afternoon either!

Have you run it under some cold water - or put something cold on it? it will help with swelling.
If youre worried go a&e but dont think theres much they do with fingers? they just strapped mine together. even if you go just to put your mind at rest. have you a friend who could take you? im sure anyone would understand?

thanks ladies, have given her calpol and put an ice pack straight on it, I finally got hold of him, he's on his way to pick us up. She's on my lap sobbing her little heart out.

They wil xray it but theres little they can do unfortunately. Calpol and nurofen regularly for a few days even if she seems comfy cos its better to keep on top of pain than chase it. Regular ice for swelling and keep her hand elevated where poss also to help with swelling and strap together between the knucle joints, the idea is not to stop the finger movement but to allow the good finger to support the bad while they are moving. Poor wee poppet xxx

well we went to A & E and like you said, they can't do anything, they wouldn't even X ray her, just said to keep with the calpol and nurofen and let her use her hand. The bones are too little for them to do anything and its unlikely that she would keep on a strap. Thanks for your concern, you're all lovely
