| I don't think there is a 'correct' spelling of it because it is an informal term, if there is then it certainly isn't Mommy because that word doesn't even appear in the oxford dictionary!
Mummy & mum are in the dictionary though! |

| I say mum, I see mom as an american term. The Irish side of my family say mammy though |

| i'm southern and have always used mum...only time i ever heard 'mam' was when i was watching coronation street...then i spoke to sam on the phone one new years evening and heard him shout 'mam' i nearly p*ssed myself laughing cos i didn't think people actually used 'mam' |

| I hear 'Mam' near me but I use 'Mum' as I think it sounds nicer. Mil is Grandma and my Mum is Nanna or Nan, cos she says she isn't old enough to be a Grandma!! LOL xx |

| I am from West yorkshire and Oh is from South yorkshire. We say mum and he says mam. Also we say nanna and they say nannan. Only 12 miles apart lol xx |
