| I e-mailed the company who make these, askign wtf was going on (slightly more politely than that) - this was their official reply: Unfortunately there is an issue withthe manufacturing process for Ashtons & Parsons Infant Powder at themoment. The issue is likely to impact the supply and availability of Ashton& Parsons Infant powders for several months. In the meantime I wouldadvise that you contact you local pharmacist for an suitable alternativeproduct.Pants Hope this is of some use for those of you who use them xx |

| I remember posting somewhere about it but couldn't remember the thread It was annoying me how rather than shopkeepers say "I don't know" they were fobbing people off - at the weekend I was told (in a pharmacy) "their re-packaging them, it could take a while..." No company worth their salt with a popular product would pi$$ about with packaging and not have it ready to re-stock immediately! Had also heard something about recall - if that were true we would be very worried - as obviously there must be a reason for that and we should be told (and stop using the ones we already have!) Also blatent lies (sainsburys, tesco, boots...) of "out of stock, should be in soon..." Anyway, it turns out that it's some techincal hoo-ha that they've termed "issue with the manufacturing process"... whatever that means... thought I'd best share anyway! xx |

| We've not experienced a shortage, hubby and I were looking at maybe buying some for Drew's peggies as they were playing up and so many people have recommended it. (Maybe I should buy loads then eBay them if there's a shortage lol) Only joking |

| ''Amber is a natural analgesic and when worn on the skin, it releases healing oils that helps babies and young children to stay calm and more relaxed thoughout teething. Amber necklaces are a great natural remedy and can eliminate the need for over the counter drugs.''
It has worked for Izzy - she wears it all the time, has got 4 molars out fully and we didn't notice, bar a few runny nappies! The teeth before that caused her problems and we thought the molars would be awful but she has hardly noticed as far as complaining goes! |

| We use Teetha's too, and they seem to do the job. Although i have to say the amber necklace sounds interesting. Isla doesn't seem to be fairing very well teething, and she only has 2 so far x |

| Lisa I got it off ebay - the company is Latvian - which I think is better to support the local community to where the stuff is sourced!
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Amber-Teething-Necklaces-Workshop
The best to get is pale and smooth - raw is supposed to be better, but I didnt like the way they looked! |

| I think so - but I can't see it making a huge difference! Izzys is the cognac colour and works well - i think they just mean the really dark amber isn't as good |

| Taylas been brilliant so far with her teeth, all she gets is a red cheek on what ever side its on and a bit of a sore/runny bum. I dont even really use teething gel, some times just a bit of calpol at night. But i might get one now for when the back ones come through! |

| That's reassuring that others have found the Nelsons / Teetha OK (same thing, yes?), thanks ladies. We've got about a dozen left - it's just very hard to tell if he's teething when he has 16 nippers already and I nearly lost a finger last time I tried to check (no joke, those molars have quite some power behind them!) so getting bonjella in there is a no-no and general out-of-sorts-ness doesn't call for calpol... so the natural alternative of the Ashton&Parsons was great to have and happy to give them when he's coming out of an illness too (as they're supposed to have general settling properties). I can't fathom why a product like that wouldn't have sent out a disclaimer / explanation to stockists - especially being a baby item but for them to suggest finding a different brand, things must be bad! xx |
