Do any of you listen to a band/song or album and it just instantly takes you back to a certain time? or is it just me that gets that attached to music?

I'm listening to Song About Jane - Maroon 5 and it just reminds me so much of summer '04. I bought the album at the airport and listened to it all holiday. I was heartbroken at the time, my parents had just had a really messy break up and i was really depressed and cutting myself. Listening to songs just makes me feel like that girl again, but strangely i still completely love the album. Whereas there is a song by the Spill Canvas - All Hail The Heartbreaker that i just can't listen to it anymore cause it hurts too much to hear it cause i just get flooded with the memories of trying to kill myself.

I have happy song memories too. Flowers by Sweet Female Attitude always makes me smile cause i just picture dancing crazy with my friends Very Happy

A savage garden album reminds me of having a crush on my friend (a guy!). He stole it off his older sis and gave it to me for my bday. We were best friends in secondary but clearly nothing was going to happen - he was mr cool who always had a hot girlf that hated me Rolling Eyes and I was his agony aunt Laughing

Take That remind me of being in primary school. The Killers Mr Brightside reminds me of uni.

Sineaid OConnor - nothing compares to you reminds me of my granny dying/being ill Sad . Its meant to be a song about a break up but the words mean something different to me. Its makes me think of how long she's been gone and how nothing can replace her. She was ill for years & mum cared for her when I was a teen so I took advantage of my freedom... the words say about being able to eat dinner in a fancy restraunt and put arms around everyboy I see but nothing compares to you (Basically I can go out & party etc but Id have prefered my granny) It makes sense in my head Embarassed Laughing

My Chemical Romance Im not Ok reminds of me festivals as it's the first band I saw at the first festival I ever went too

Muse Plug in baby reminds me of my old best friend Claudia because we had that album on when we were decorating my bedroom whilst drinking baileys lol. oh and Radiohead Creep makes me think of her too as we used to play it on our guitars together but it makes me sad that we're not in touch anymore Sad

Oh that's so sad. That song is so emotional as it is, without having it attached to memories.
