My dad and step mum came over for dinner yesterday (which went well, if anybody read my other post, lol).

So, after dinner, we are chilling out and my OH pipes up with 'oh, Laura was telling me how you to used to pretend to play football' (aimed at my dad)!!!

When my dad was cheating on my mum with my step mum, he used to say he was at football, but wasnt, he was with her instead.

Talk about embarrassing!!! My OH thought it was funny and didnt realise that maybe it was a subject to you dont bring up with your in laws, lol!

I didnt know how to get out of that one and wanted the ground to eat me up! x

I have no idea what was going through his head! I think I managed to make out that I was telling James that my dad 'couldnt' play football and used to say he played... I hope! lol

I'm sorry but that's hilarious I wonder what was going on in his head to think that was a good thing to say?! lol!

I think he had a little bit too much champagne with his sunday lunch! (him and my dad went through two bottles between them).

He is useless on champagne... 3 days before my due date, he got drunks out of his mind on the stuff at a work party and 'blamed it on the bubbles'

I did try to explain that it wasnt the bubbles that got him in that state... it was the 4 bottles that he was necking straight down!

(btw, i made him spend the night at the inlaws that night with a clean pair of boxers and his mobile phone charger )

Sounds like something my plonker of an OH would say. Sometimes I see his lips start to move and think oh frig please dont say anything daft!

When the HV called when Caitlin was a week old she asked him if there was - any hearing difficulties on your side? He said - pardon. She asked again, Any hearing issues in your family? - his response - Pardon?

I swear she asked about 4 times before I clicked on he was pretending to be hard of hearing as a 'joke'. The HV didnt look to amused and I was mortified!

My OH could beat that....

When our HV came to see Aimee for the first time (she was 6 weeks old as we had been in hospital so long), she was filling out a form and she asked if we took recreational drunks, he responded with 'what would you like?'

Obviously I knew he was being a smart arse, but she might not have!

Mine would proabably say the same thing. I actually give him limited information about people just in case he puts his foot in it.

Oh and funnily enough my dad used to old playing football excuse when he was cheating on my mum.

Thats the kind of thing that amuses me when it's someone else's OH doing it, but if it was mine I'd go crazy.

Lol think I might be quite lucky with my OH by sounds of it he does say the odd omg thing but wouldnt dare to someone he doesnt know (if that makes sense)
