You bunch of meanies....those of you who kill! I dunno

I'm not a massive fan of spiders but I do have resident ones in my house. The way I see it is it's one of those 'your enemies enemy is your friend' type of thing. I really dislike flies, for no other reason than that they are shit spreaders for want of a better phrase. But you know what I mean, they land on shit, eat shit and bring that shit into your home....AND.....then vomit on everything they want to eat....nice, NOT!!!

Whereas the dear ol' spider, doesn't want to cause us any harm, can't understand why we - 4, 5 and 6' monsters - are scared of them, and will gladly rid us of those yukkie flies!!! Granted they give us the heebie jeebies, but just think how useful they are.

Also the one in the pic is a male Tegenaria (not sure if I spelt that right) more commonly known as the house spider. Once he has fertilised the female he stays with her until either she eats him, as she can't look for food when protecting the eggs or he will naturally die to provide for her and his offspring. Now in my books that deserves a pat on the back...a very gentle one obviously x x

Lol!! No the males are bigger. Well they have longer legs and are bigger in diameter, but the females have a bigger body and shorter legs! x
