so, i was reading the development mile stones that are coming up for ben. but using his adjusted age of almost 4 months (3mnth, 4wks, 1day)

he isnt doing ANY of it, nor for the 3 mnth development. trying to roll over it says, he dont even squirm yet.... reach for toys... he has only learned what his hands are and can get them to his mouth. laugh... he hasnt even got a cry, how can he laugh its saying he should be trying to sit supported, yet he isnt that great at holding his head for any length of time. its got me quite down tbh. the consultants never said anything about it when they were asking me if he was doing these things at the clinic this week. they just told me to keep encouraging him.

what can i do that i dont already do to help him?? we have tummy time, he sits on my lap like a proper wee person and looks around him self, he gets his nekkey time. i have been a mother for 10 years to my own kids and have been caring for children for 18 years... i am sure i have the knowledge there some where. yet i must be going wrong ???

hey, i know it must be really frustrating but i gave up reading these things because eli has only just started doing half of that stuff and hes nearly 5 and a half months! i kept comparing him with these descriptions and getting really worried, but he will get there and im sure ben will too who wants to roll over and grab things anyway if someones going to give it to me haha i dont!

I agree with Mari hun, don't pay any attention, I'm sure he will in his own time.

My LO never rolled, I mean never, he did sit at 6mth but he didn't crawl until 12mth and 1wk. I felt exactly the same reading them development stages too and it can be really disheartening.. but he will get there in his own time.

thanks, i know he will do what he wants and when. i dunno why i bothered reading that stuff any ways. i never usually! i was just having a low night and thought i was doing something wrong

Don't read those development books and leaflets cos they are crap hun, every baby is different, so please dont get disheartened xx
