| Then spend money on things they don't 'need' really wind me up!
I know someone who is always going on about being skint, not being able to afford the nice things she wants in life....but then goes and forks out loads of money for something bought on a whim
It's going to be really hard not to tell her some home truths about how stupid/short sighted she is when she next moans about something she can't afford, tbh from what she has told me before I don't know how she afford this - makes me wonder where she got the money from bearing in mind she was skint last week! |

| this one REALLY p*sses me off!! my brother announced that he couldn't afford to come for the kids party as they can barely even afford to eat at the minute, yet in the last week they've gone out for a meal in a posh restaurant, bought the new guitar hero game and the just dance game, and had a night out drinking...so skint! |

| I have a friend from uni like this, in fact when we lived together she dropped out of uni and lived off me for the rest of the year, claiming she would pay me back.... racked up about 300-400 quid, and I'm still waiting to be paid back. She's forever claiming that shes skint, yet she is always going to gigs, just moved into a nice new flat and has even got the new I-Pad.... yeah she sounds skint |

| I have a "friend" who claims they have no money and how "hard" Christmas is going to be. This pisses me off they are in no way poor! They have carpets throughout their own house, a flat screen tv in the living room, her oh has a car, they've just bought a new sofa after their new cat decided to flex it's claws all over it and they go away on holidays. Everything we don't have so if they are "poor" then we muct be effing destitute! I don't talk to her anymore, can't be bothered to listening to all her whining about what she hasn't got, I feel like slapping her saying we have a old hard sofa and don't have carpets in our house, we have a cold concrete floor and upstairs we have wooden floors that give us splinters but do you hear me complaining????????!!!!!!! NO (although I did have a minor whinge on FB the other day cuz it is really getting me down) x Added:- It is not what you haven't got - it is what you have got and how you get on with it. We might not have a fancy house, or a car or many other comforts but we have each other, we have food in our cupboards and a roof over our heads which is a damn site more than some people in this world have |

| Im actually angry with my friend right now for something like this. we arranged a night out months in advance and she cancelled on me because she had to take her parents out for a meal the next evening and couldnt afford to do both. yet on the night of the night out we were supposed to be on she was updating fb statuses from a night out with someone else, next night went for her meal and went out afterwards. Ive not spoken to her since then as I barely get a night out and hardly ever see her. grrr!
she doesnt exactly plead poverty but shes just one of these people that always moan about things she doesnt have and never thinks of others. |

| I'm starting to see how this works. Shayne and I are gonna start telling everyone we are poor, especially the kids..maybe they will back off with their demands! All kidding aside..it pisses us off too as we see it over and over again here as well! These people wouldn't know a hard day if it came up and bopped em upside the head. xxx |

| Snap!! We have some 'friends' that claim poverty all of the time too (the very same friends that expected Simon to go and cut frigging jigsaws every Sunday!! ) yet they have booked a birthday party for their little girl - last minute - at their local sports centre and are arranging meals out with other friends of theirs. I wish I was as hard up as them!!!! xx |

| In my experience with some very annoying friends, the people who plead poverty will never actually know what it's like because the ones who are actually poor dont take for granted what they DO have |

like! My cousin has just come on fb announcing she is getting a puppy, she is on benefits and her partner (who she lives with but 'claims' she doesn't - don't even get me started on that one) has just been made redundant, she has twin girls (Thomas' age) and is always moaning she can't afford things, she has borrowed money from her sister and her mum to get her girls christmas pressies and has numerous store cards and catalogues run up to the max that she can't pay. How the hell does she think she can look after a puppy? It has actually made me extremely mad - I just hope that poor dog gets the care it deserves. How does she expect to afford jabs, boosters, food, treats, insurance etc? Not to mention any extra vet bills it may need? xx |

| I hate people like this Ok, so we are skint within days of OH being paid But I know people who don't work and complain about being skint then they buy loads of new clothes ( for themselves not the kids), go out drinking a lot. I have my stepmum have Flick once a week so I can have a day to myself but there are people I know that pack their kids off to their parents for days so they can go to Party in The Park, go on holidays with their mates,go out clubbing every weekend. Yet they complain about being skint! I would love to be able to afford to go on holiday or even go out one night! |
