| what do you use for icing?? Iv been using butter icing, then putting flavours, but how do you get it all thick so can pipe it and make that swirly pattern?? Im doing something wrong as it just doesnt look right/ thick or too think or using the wrong pipe? thanks ladies x x |

| I use normal buttercream. If it's not thick enough, you've not put enough icing sugar in. I use half the amount of butter to icing sugar (eg 125g butter to 250g icing sugar). You need a large star nozzle to achieve the swirl effect. Also you need to let it set for a couple of hours before eating the cupcakes otherwise it's a bit soft x |
