We are looking after my mum's dogs next week whilst they are on holiday and we wanted to go up to their house in the Lakes for a few days coz Oh has the week off work - thought it would be a nice little break . Anyway I have to be home on the wednesday (for the meet ) but my parents aren't back until thursday. We don't have an estate car but we do have a Vectra which has a mahoosive boot so I was wondering would it be cruel to put the dogs in the boot? Now it's not as bad as it sounds coz obviously I would take out the parcel shelf and my parents have one of those big canvas box type things the dogs go in anyway which does fit in our boot (just). They wont be able to see much out of their box/cage type thing but then they can't see much in the estate coz it only has mesh on the ends which face the boot door and the backs of the seats. Still something doesn't really sit right with me putting the dogs 'in the boot' am I being daft or should we just stay at home? Opinions please xx

Well it's two dogs actually - A huge Lab and a teeny Jack Russel. The journey will be about 2 hours but they are used to it coz they come here all the time. Thanks for the replies ladies - still feels a bit weird and doesn't help that my OH did this: and said "YOU CANT PUT THE DOGS IN THE BOOT!! ITS CRUEL!!" LOL xx

Lol Kayleigh - that's the polite way of saying what I thought! He is just trying to put me off because he wants to play COD all week and I'm not having it. I told him he could take the xbox with us and he could play of an evening when the kids are in bed but he is whinging he wouldn't be able to play online coz my parents broadband connection is so slow Men!! xx

Haha Steph - I've never put dogs in the boot before. My parents have always had estate cars for their dogs so I just thought that was the rule lol! Now I come to think of it there are a lot more dogs out there than estate cars so must be normal to put them in the boot lol - oh well, in the boot they go Thanks ladies xx

LOL! Nothing wrong with it at all for a 2 hour journey. Infact..the dogs will probably be so excited about going for a "car ride"! My two..retriever and a shih-tzu do a happy dance when they hear the car keys jingle, and would crawl into a cardboard box for the sake of just going! Hope you don't mind dog nose prints on your windows!
