| I've heard lots of babies go through this and it's just a phase so fingers crossed! I was watching the baby whisperer before which was about separation anxiety, granted I only watched about 10 mins max but she was saying if they do this, don't pick them up but still comfort them and then distract with something! I've not yet been through it so don't know if that'll work! xxx |

| That sounds about right for his age, it starts from around 6 months although most babies cry when mummies leave the room too!
it should pass as his confidence grows big hugs, i know exactly how you feel |

| Sound's familiar hun . I have a Hannah shaped barnacle stuck under my arm almost constantly at the minute. She is ok to be held by other people or go in her jumperoo as long as she can see me - god help me if I leave her eyeline. If OH tells me I've spoiled her by picking her up too much once more I swear....... . Thomas had my undivided attention at her age and he never went through this stage - he has always been a daddy's boy. Whilst it is cute that they love their mummies I really hope it doesn't last too long xx |

| ^ i'm with you there, 'oh you should just leave him he will be fine', i KNOW he is clean, fed, safe, comfy so yes, i could leave him, but i can't take the torture of this constant crying in the background and his poor sad little face! |

| Awww hun, I really feel for you. Aimee never went through a clingy stage, but I think she was used to having so many other people looking after her in hosptial that she didnt get a choice. I do remember she cried a few times if I left the room to go to the kitchen, but I just let her cry, as if I didnt I wouldnt have got anything done. It wasnt easy though, and lucky for me, it only happened a few times. x |

| Ellie is like that but I just let her cry. Not because I'm mean but because I've other kids to see to and when I put her down, she cries but only for a minute or so and stops and just plays happily. Unfortunatly, I think you have to let them have a little cry or you'd never get anything done.
I know it's hard but it doesn't do them any harm xxxx |

| fraid so! i was desperately pulling my hair out, i'd move him away from my body to put him down and he'd already be clinging and screaming for some reason the very day he turned 9months he just changed, he became happy to play instead of scream at the gate! i could actually leave the room without hysterical crying following me! |

| Isla has always been a bit of a cling on! Not really sure when it got better, but even now i have to remove her finger by finger from me at times. I was quite strong with my first little girl, but with Isla i have never felt able to leave her to cry. She would just go crazy. Not nice, it will get better and then you will miss the cuddles x x x |
