I hate hate hate it when you are talking to someone and no matter what you say, they have done better!! For example if i told her one of the kids were ill, one of hers would have been in hospital, if Sam was teething, hers would be getting all their teeth!! Also everytime anyone talks about their kid she cuts them off and turns the convo round to her kids!!!

I haven't got to that part yet, but the competition has already started, I have a friend who is 10 weeks ahead of me and if I say 'ooo ive felt flutters today' I get back 'well I have had big kicks'!!! Grrrr!!

i think i'm a bit like that, i try and sort of make conversation (inadequately obviously) and i think i sound more like i am telling people about eli rather than just talking about our kids in generally......

I used to work with somebody like this!

The best thing was how she was telling me that when she had her kids and had her scans, etc. they could 'see this and see that'.

Funny thing is... her kids are in their mid 20's... I could be wrong, but I didnt think they did routine pregnancy scans that long ago, did they?

I don't mean to but like you I just kinda try to make conversation and I have nothing else really to talk about . I inadvertantly compare in a vain attemp to give advice/experience etc but I don't mean to turn the conversation round to my own kids (IYKWIM ).

some ppl are too boring to talk to and all u have in common is the kids so the convos end up going that way and it turns into a my kid did this but my kid can do this battle

psst.. i wasnt meaning u were boring mari LOL i mean some folk have nothing to talk about... like, i have a school friend and we still keep in touch but all we have to talk about is kids cause we grew apart yrs ago and have diff interests, zero in common. so talk bout kids to fill the time.

No i didnt mean just talking about your child, thats perfectly natural. What i mean is people who have to better everything you say whether it be about your kids or anything else. They like the focus to be on them and turn every conversation to be about them xx

My eldest is 20 and I had routine scans and have photos! Believe it or not, it was quite civilised in those days, we even had cars and electricity

haha luara! i wasn't taking offense...i fully admit i'm boring as anything these days, don't even have work to talk about, all i want to talk about is elijah and i appreciate that isn't the most interesting for everyone hahaha

im 28 and my mum didn't have regular scans with me or my older brother (31) or even my little brother i don't think...that's why my big bro came out arse first!
