Amanda, we've been having exactly the same thoughts. We usually get a huge real one in the room that we spend most of our time in and one in the frontroom that we never we go in. So our thoughts are not to have one in our main room as between ellie and two pussys they're sure to pull it down. Just seems sad that the only tree we have will be in a room were we don't go. Sad

Caitlin is actually great with ours Very Happy ! She usually into everything climbing, and pulling at ornaments, glasses etc but is being so good about staying away from tree.
The morning she first saw the tree she went up to it and went to touch it 2-3 times but I told her no dont touch and she hasnt really looked at it since. Im amazed! A few of my friends LO's have been the same. I do have a few Santa/Snowman teddies that im letting her play with..

Anyway 4 days in and no mishaps with tree! Hope i havent spoke too soon Laughing

I am a little bit worried about how Libby will be - mainly because she is fascinated by lights!! I 'think' she'll be OK with the decorations because I've been making them throughout the year so she's used to seeing them around.

We'll soon see though! Xmas trees and toddlers! 548646 xx

we've had this discussion!

lewis is into EVERYTHING at the moment so we're thinking a little one in the corner of the play room, where they spend 95% of their time, and a proper nice one in the living room

There will be a discussion in our house about not touching the decorations and after that very loud 'no' if little fingers get too close.

(we have the same conversation with the dogs and cats too)

we have two staircases one up and one down leading from our lounge so we have that area gated off so the tree will safely go there:)

We are going to put ours up, but we have it on a table in the corner. last year we put the tree up while paige was still awake so it was such a shock to her. i think she will try n get in the corner n try n get at things but i think after a few tellings off she will be fine xx

I am hoping Aimee will be good too, but she is like Libby and totally obsessed with lights.

I used to have a house rabbit in my old house and came home one day to find it had eaten all of my chocolates off the tree!

No choccies this year!

We will be having our weird tree again this year... the baubles start half way up to avoid curious paws and fingers.

No choccies on our tree since 1996 when OH pinched one off my mum's tree. For 17 years she had put 24 choccies on the tree - one a day each for me and my sister for the 12 days of Christmas. She was a little upset to discover that on Christmas morning there were only 23.

i just gave Caitlin a pat on the bum Crying or Very sad Embarassed

She kept pulling off the same bobble (after being so bloody good all week), I ended up smacking her nappy padded bum and she cried Crying or Very sad . I could have cried too, there's no way it hurt but im annoyed at myself.

Feel guilty now and am tempted to give her the plastic bobble she craves so much but then that makes the smack even more pointless.... bad mum. Im just scared of the tree falling on her.

Reckon I should take it down and out it up again on xmas eve? Laughing
