i really am kayleigh!!

i felt awful lastnight as i literally only picked at the starter and main cos i hate soup and the tart thing was full of veggies...then scoffed the desert!

right...back on topic:

food wise, it's a case of calorie control....a healthy breakfast, special k is my thing of the moment, but you will have a higher calorie limit than me(as you weigh more) so something like porridge is good as it's oats so slow releasing carbs...skimmed milk is best btw...35cals per 100ml compared to about 120 with full cream.

lunch is generally about 400cals for me, jacket potatoes are fab, although they're starchy, they're super low calorie and fat...a jacket with just beans is about 200-225cals and 2g of fat! soups of course are fab,

dinners...i never go over 1000cals for a evening meal, unless i've done a hell of alot of exercise that day, try to have a decent amount of protein to repair and build muscle(the bigger the muscle, the more proficiently your body burns fat)
and tons of veg...i know i don't, but i'm a totally non practical one! lol

drink loads...up to 8glasses of water a day, as if your sodium(salt) levels are quite high your body will retain water, so drinking plenty prevents that

snack...technically there have been studies proving that eating little and often doesn't make a difference, but experience says differently! 3snacks a day are a good thing, something quite healthy and/or low cal leaves more free calories for meals!

don't deny yourself food...if you want a little choccy, have a piece, or a pizza...have just one or two slices but log the calories(so maybe use mfp or write a diary) and subtract them from your totals,

a few simple low cal bits i keep in stock: sugar free jelly, snack-a-jacks, low fat lemon cakes, soups, bread rolls, any quorn bits are generally low cal too

exercise wise...up to an hour a day is plenty, if you're just starting then take it slow. any little activity is beneficial...taking harry to the park, getting off the bus a stop earlier and walking the rest....you get the general idea i'm sure.
if you are working out using cardio machines be aware, they can be seriously wrong in calculating a calorie burn. strength training is also quite important for toning up cos as the weight starts dropping, you want to have the skin tightening back into shape too

i think i've covered it but feel free to add any other questions!

you will naturally gain a little before dropping...your muscles will be building up AND retaining water to help repair so i wouldn't worry too much, especially as you've only just started. does your gym have scales with a body fat analyser??(most gyms these days do) if so then keep tracking your fat rather than weight as 'muscle weighs more than fat' so the scales may gain while the fat content goes down

you may need to eat a little extra to allow for the exercise you're doing....there are many theories for/against eating exercise calories...do you know how many cals a day on average you consume?

minimum calorie allowance is 1200...NEVER go below that, your body will start to think a famine is coming so will store fat. if you are working out then try eating a minumum of 1500cals, it sounds like you're actually not eating enough...also keep an eye on your fat content in what you are eating

some people don't realise that simple things actually have a hell of a lot of fat in
