i mean, i know you can get oaty bread, and i have loads of oats...so can i just chuck them in??

Yes, you can put what you like in bread, if they're really big, you might want to chop them a little, otherwise jsut throw them in

they are just plain porridge oats - do you think i need to make the dough a bit erm wetter? or maybe reduce the flour a little? i'm a real beginner when it comes to bread, but needs must (thanks tesco, value flour on 3 for 2 so nearly 5kg for £1 )

I would just use my normal recipe. Are you using a breadmaker? If you are just add it in with the ingredients, If you're doing it by hand, then add them when you're knocking the bread back into shape after proving it

nah will just be using the oven, thanks for the tip though i will hopefully get time to have a go in the next 6 months
