Slowly going insane. _
PostSubject: Slowly going insane.   Slowly going insane. EmptyTue Dec 14, 2010 1:32 am

Seriously feel like i'm insane at the moment. Imogen has been waking up at all hours the last month, which is worse at the moment cause she's ill so i'm barely getting any sleep. In the day she can be the sweetest thing but also a complete nightmare. She just gets her hands on everything and destroys it, she never listens to me, she won't eat anything, she climbs everything and will never get down which leads to her hurting herself the majority of the time, she throws temper tantrums every 2mins it seems when she can't get her own way. It's all just making me feel like a complete failure as a mother.
I think it's worse cause Matt is now away mon-fri so it's just me&Immi all day so i never get a break. (single mothers i completely admire you). I don't get out the house much cause i live in a quiet village so there's no where to go, hardly any buses out and I don't drive. So everyday i'm just sitting here and honestly i feel like I'm going insane. I don't feel like me anymore. I'm ridiculously moody, and half the time i don't even want to get out of bed. Sad

Please tell me it's not just me that's going through this. I feel really alone atm Sad xx

my partner comes home at 4pm from work but i completely understand, i can't get out because theres nowhere close to go, and my oh takes the car except on a friday when i meet my mum, but it drives me mental being sat at home through the day so i can imagine its ten times worse when you know your oh isnt coming home until the weekend!
Don't think your a failure as a mother tho, they are toddlers they all go through stages of being absoloute little terrors! x

Nope hun not just you at all. I am a bit of a recluse too and sometimes it drives me potty.

Sam is also like Imogen without the tantrums and i could throttle him some days. Its boredom with them chick. Everything is and adventure for them and a bloody nightmare for us!!

Is any family/friends in walking distance. Even a mooch round the shops makes me feel better. I always find a blow of fresh air even 10 mnutes makes me feel loads better xx

thanks for replying ladies.

I have one friend around here that i can see, and my sister in law. I try to see them at least once a week and i do go to a mother&baby group but still in the house on my own a lot. Sadly there's not even a few shops to browse here. it's literaly a spar &hardware shop.

Aww Carla *big hugs* I know i said i wanted to know i wasn't alone but really sorry you're feeling this way too.

I go through stages of being like this too Michelle, its hard being stuck at home all day. Im finding this cold weather tough coz its not like we can just go to the park for an hour or so as its so cold and Tayla throws tantrums about putting her gloves and coat on!
Lukes been getting home quite late with his job at the moment too. Ive just brought some sing and dance dvds and aqua draws to help keep Tay entertained. Ive had a few nights out in this month and feel way better for it, its nice to of been able to be ME again and not just a Mummy.
Let me know if u ever want to meet up one day as we arent that far from each other x

Ah I can completely relate to what you are all saying, Hannah is such a chilled out little girl but when she doesnt get her own way I have started the tantrums coming, the other day she went to hit me on the foot with something because I told her no, I have no idea where she has got the thought if doing something like that from but I was soo shocked that my gorge little 'angel' is turning into a monkey bum. Worse thing is when she is tired as well esp at night when she wont give in and go to bed, she walks around as shes adament shes not sitting with us or anywhere as then thats admitting defeat and she falls over every 5 mins, it normally ends in her hurting herself and then she finally admits shes tired and drops off, this is after the 5min scream from hurting herself, it frustrates me as she seems to need to hurt herself to finally admit she needs to go to bed.
I felt like a failure some days and im lucky some days if i get out the door which sends me mad but then i think i cant wear myself out just to get them out the house as in the long run its worse for them. Im starting to try and get involved in more groups round me but dont want to make it a must as there is going to be times Im not going to make it, just as something to do.
I def admire any single parents as I couldnt do it on my own, luckily hubby is ace when he gets back, but hes so busy at work recently he hasnt been home till 7ish which just doesnt help as ive normally then got a screaming hungry baby and a tired baby who needs a bath or bottle before bed. Laughing

ive got 3 that wake every 20 minutes ALL and i mean ALL night EVERY night.
we are completely drained.
id love to say it gets easier but unfortunatley for us it doesnt. my eldest is 4 and he is the worse for it. hes been like this now for nearly 2 years.
my girl wakes for a drink and a dummy and just a tantrum.
and my baby has reverted back to night feeds!!

Aww Katie poor you! I feel bad for complaining when i've only got one.

Steph sounds like Hannah and Immi are quite similar. Immi is so funny and chilled but a nightmare when she doesn't get her own way. I feel for you dealing with this and a newborn.

Terri we should deff organise something in the new year, it's a bit crazy busy atm

I get what you mean, i get angry at myself days when i feel like this cause not going to be young forever and I should be treasuring the moment, even if some of them do make me crazy. Aww I see your logic, we're thinking the same, have babies now while we're young. Although i joked to Matt we could always have another one in 10yrs, i'd only be 30 and Immi would be starting secondary school but i don't think we'd really want to go through it all again in 10yrs
