PostSubject: going back to work   going back to work EmptyThu Dec 16, 2010 8:54 pm

i've got less than 3 weeks now before i'm back at work and i'm really starting to worry about it. Its not going to work as such but i really don't want to leave ava, the most I've ever been away from her is 3 hours and i'm going to be away 12 hours with travelling so i'll see her briefly on a morning but she'll be in bed when i get home.

I'm glad my hubbys looking after her rather than going to nursery and don't get me wrong he's a great dad but i just don't think he'll do things the same, i have visions of him playing on his xbox and just letting her do her own thing. i've always done the lions share so I'v been getting him to do more over the past few weeks but he's so useless at making decisions, I have to remind him what time lunch is, then he can't decide what to make her, what time nap times are.I know when it comes down to it, he'll do a good job and ava will be fine when I'm at work but I feel really stressed out about it, its really not like me.

Aww i think it's normal to be stressed out about it. I haven't gone back to work but I've left Immi with oh when i've gone away for the weekend a few times and I just know he won't do things like I do and that stresses me out. I leave a list of the general routine on the fridge all the time, so oh doesn't know it's just for him - i say its for me, or for it someone ever needs to babysit - but i know he looks at it and it helps me when I'm not there. That calms me a bit. I don't know if something like that would work for you?x

Aw hun, I was exactly the same when I left Libby and I had never left her - well apart from a few mins to have a shower/loo Laughing

Simon wasnt very hands on before I went back to work - he would go days without changing a nappy and I even remember thinking he hadnt even held her one day (the downside of BF). The first day I went back was a friday and I have to say he had a VERY rough time of it but that was because she was teething (her two front top teeth) so she just would not settle for him and I did think 'how is he going to cope' but by the Monday her teeth were through and she was absolutely fine.

Now he is amazing with her, they are so close and I know they have a blast in the afternoons.

I wont lie, it is hard but it does get easier hun. xxxx
