| I've chickened out of telling Dave yet cuz he's going to be annoyed too. She's always been the same though. Most of his toys were always set up in the living room on xmas morning not wrapped, apparently because then he could play with them straight away. I think it's cuz she was too tight to pay for wrapping paper. I mean if it's huge then fair do's but if not I'd just make it up and then cover it with wrapping.
Oh and she reuses wrapping paper that you give her too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who the feck does that?!
Jen she'll be getting some smellies from Boots, whatever OH picks (could be funny) for about £20 and that's it. Not going to wrap it either!
Oh and just to truely fuck her off I'll be making a Christmas cake to take round as she always makes one, and I'm going to blow hers out of the water!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| That really hits a personal nerve with me. My parents split when I was 2 and I only saw my dad on Sat afternoons until I was 4 (he could only keep it up 2 yrs, was an alcho policeman and lets just say had a hot temper.... ) Anyway all the toys he bought me had to stay at his. I can remember having a zoo and an ironing board.... One of my saddest childhood memories is him buying me a huge hefalump teddy and letting me play with it all day, even riding home in the car cuddling it then making me leave it in car when I got back to my mums. I cried and sobbed and begged but he wouldnt let me take it in. My mum and granny even went out and pleaded with him but he refused and drove off. I dont know why that day stuck with me. Looking back as an adult I can see how pathetic of him it was. He was almost bribing me to want to see him because of a teddy. How sad is it that a 3 yr old would want to go out with their dad the next week just to cuddle a toy rather than actually spend time with their daddy. Im trying so hard to get over it (I sound pathetic ). Caitlins aunty is buying her 3 or 4 dif things this year and specifically said one of them is a tub of duplo to stay at hers/MILs. For a second I got cross about it but then calmed down as I know my personal experience is affecting my feelings. Caitlin does visit their house one afternoon a week and Santa getting her Duplo anyway. Urgh sorry.... back to you. Could your MIL be trying to get amelia to want to come and visit her for the toys? Shows insecurity imo. And as for not wrapping thats just plain lazy! In saying that my Santa presents were never wrapped as a child and I dont wrap Caitlins because its not 'tradition', however family is different. x |

| Oh Nicki your story made me cry. That's just awful! Big ((((((((hugs))))))))) I don't think it's the case here as she has Amelia all day on Weds whilst I'm at work and she only lives round the corner and see's her a lot. It's basically because she's too tight to buy her toys at any other time of the year, so to make sure she has something to play with it has to stay at hers. |

| what is it with mils and this stupid annoying habit of doing this? my mil does it too. I think its an attention thing! any attention is good attention? I just let her keep it as hannah has enough anyway. also I would keep her gift at mine but shes not invited to mine because shes an idiot! I keep a lot of stuff at my mums for hannah but its because I decide to not because my mum buys her gifts to keep at hers. she buys her toys all year round to keep at hers so her gifts are hers to do what she wants with! snoop your dad sounds like a right horrible person x |
