Well its not stealing in these cases.... How did some of the ladies on here get people gifts of snowglobes/key rings/frames etc with pics of their kids? Im guessing they came from FB.

Can any of your friends just copy a photo without you knowing and print them off on proper photo paper eg not just printscreen. I wouldnt have minded anyone on here doing it as a SS for me but its freaked me out a bit that anyone on my FB can print out pics of Caitlin. Not that im going to run and delete half of you, but it does make me more wary of adding people. Also really shows the importance of not having photo's visable to friends of friends... you have no clue who they have added randomly! 'Stealing' FB pics 548646

Yep anyone can copy a picture that they can see to their desktop from Facebook.
If they can see it they can have it.

Do you have any way of knowing that its been copied? Guessing not if people didnt know what they were getting as SS gifts. I dont know why I didnt think of this before.

Oh and just to add... I did realise people could copy to their wall/share an album on Fb that wasnt theirs (thats how I guess some of those nasty FB groups get pics), My brain just hadnt clicked that you could actually store them to your home computer files and print them off.

i think it gets forgotten but anything that you press 'post' on on the internet is publicly published (except a few exceptions), but if people can see something or have access to it they can take it and do what they want with it!

^ this is why I'm very over-cautious with internet safety, I'm not on FB, don't post pics etc. Embarassed even referring to babies as 'bean' and 'pip' ( I didn't / won't actually Christen them that Laughing )

Your pics sorta become the property of FB once posted. I have my settings on the strictest of settings, but anyone on my friendslist could easily copy my pics.

I only allow my friends to see my FB photos.

But, then you have to hope that other people (like your OH) has done the same.

Right click the picture, scroll down to 'save image as' and it will be downloaded and saved into your picture file as if it were your own photo. You are then free to do with it as you please. This also applies to any photos posted on here and even the teeny ones at the side of your tickers.

I am guilty of pinching people photos for gift purposes on occasion and people have also done the same for me. Tbh though I really don't have an issue with it, what could people actually do with your photos? :/

Remember that no matter how strict your security settings on fb, unless you make yourself unsearchable, anybody in the world of Facebook can copy your profile pic.

i agree with that - but to also bare that in mind when you post stuff! there isnt much people can do but if you inadvertently post a pic of yourself next to a pile of mail with your address and bank details on it you're in trouble! Laughing
