I can't see many companies taking on the increase in the long term, there are so many companies out there struggling to keep afloat that they just can't afford to write off that kind of money, the likes of tesco can but the smaller businesses won't be able to. For instance the place I get my cake supplies from have already announced their increased prices, which means I'll have to put my prices up.

fule is going to rise by approx 3p a litre, because you also have the fuel duty increase kicking in. In the papers today they are estimating that families are going to be £389 a year worse off, which I know isn't loads, but then when you look that some are going to lose their child benefit completely and their tax credits it will mean for some families that they will have to look at already tight budgets

oh god i'm not saying that at all.

I mean the big companies like tesco, asda, morrisons etc. Argos, debenhams big stores.

I dont shop in small stores.

i know for those who have their own business's are going to be hit hard by it.

but i was trying to put across that things like food we should not see an increase and was hoping for it to reassure some people that not everything is going up.

i know lots of families are being affect and CTC and CB are being taken away.

Just wanted to point out that not everything is being effected

You don't pay VAT on essentials anyway such as bread, milk etc it's only what's classed as luxury food items that you pay it on, so staples aren't affected, I think it's going to be a very tough year for some though. I've already seen the cost of filling my tank up increase by £10 in the last few months Sad

We're putting in place a tight budget for this year, otherwise I have no hope of getting married next year
