we have boiler insurance with them - last night the boiler packed in, i came home from work and it was freezing! Oh tried to relite the pilot light but it wont stay lit so it doesnt work. We rang british gas at 9:30am thinking they would come out today because they have a 24 hour policy, but they said tomoro between 8-1 which i thought was bad enough, but llater they rang to say they would have to cancel and change the appointment to monday or tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!
my oh went mad on the phone lol we explained we had a 1 and a 2 year old, the 1 yr old has asthma and they both have colds as it is.... so they turn round and said, ok we will come =o|
well why do u bloomin have to cancel it if you could come anyway?

Annoying BUT I can see their point though - they have people who are vulnerable to care for that have to come first like pensioners AND people with kids, or people who are ill...they don't assume you have kids so you have to say and then you go up the list

my boilers broken to hun i had man out to look at it that my landlord got to look at it last time it broke ( b4 xmas) and hes now said hes gota order parts and dont know how long its gonna be ive got a 16 month old that picks any bug up goin ive only just had her get over a chest infection 2 wks ago grrrr

i dont know how you do it pinky its freezing! my hands are like ice blocks lol.

I know it must be terrible - I think we'd be OK cos we have a gas fire in the one room and electric heaters we could use elsewhere, plus the open fire and an immersion for the water

So it wouldnt be the end of the world!

we have one tiny little oil heater thing lol.

lol i would be shivering with cold bath water! cant believe how much of an actual pain it is, even washing up is a chore boiling a bloomin kettle!!

get an immersion tank fitted before next winter! (no idea how much that costs mind!)

apparently we are on a different system,so oh says, but im lost now so yeah......its cold!

Im a plumber tell him (im not!)...you can have an immersion tank on most boiler systems (I have no idea really!)

poor you what a nightmare, lots of layers and dressing gowns.

lol all i know is this house has the original boiler that was put in, and its about 30 ish years old!

i am surprised if its that old niccsy that you dont have a seperate immersion, we have 1 and its a bloody godsend.

we had a new boiler fitted last year and they left us without heat for 3 days cos they needed a new part (in a new boiler?) i am so thankful we had the immersion tank to at least have hot water
