Not really written down my birth story before so will try to remember best I can...
on the 2/11 I woke up feeling quite strange and not myself. sat up and some of my waters trickled out. at this point was unsure if it was just some pee as it was coming so slowly so I put a towel on to check and sure enough if was my waters. my best friend was over from australia and she came up and my mum came down. we went for a walk to try and get things going then I tidied my house a bit and we ordered a pizza.
about 5pm my contractions started and were very irregular up until about 10pm. by 1am they were coming roughly every 6 minutes - they were still very irregular though and some of them were extremely painful I had to scream out.
at 8am I had a bath and went up to the hospital were I was examined and was barely 1cm dilated and I actually cried when the midwife offered me a co-codamol. ws sent home and by 5pm I was in complete agony and I honestly thought that it couldnt get any worse so went to hospital again and was 3cm so they kept me in and I had a shot of pethidine.
I was given an epidural at 7pm on the 3/11. and then the drip to speed things up. Hannahs heartrate was dropping with every contraction and I was oblivious as I was sleeping.
so they took some blood from her head and decided on taking me for a section - at this point I was 8cm and very disappointed but was also totally out of it.
was rushed to theatre and prepped. I can honestly say that having a section was one of the worst experiences of my life. at one point I thought I could feel everything (im sure that was the pethidine talking) and the anaesthetist was panicking and was ready for putting me under as I was so stressed but oh managed to calm me down.
hannah arrived into the world at 1.52 am on the 4/11/08 crying her lungs out. best day of my life. although it has still managed to put me off having more
