decided this week i wud get evan on the list for pre school lol, spoke to them cos my nephew was starting this week and they said even tho he cant start til he is 3yrs id best get him on the list to guarantee he gets a place so got that done and he now on list
we had been speaking bout gettin him a couple of afternoons at a nursery meantime jst to try get him socialising with some kids and get him spending some time away from us and hopefully bring on his speech and developement a bit, cudnt afford to put him in fulll time and dont really need to cos oh looks after him when im working anyway
the nursery i wanted is only 5 min away so i went down but even for jst 2 half sessions they were mega full and there list is huge so have put him on the list but they reckon it will be summer before a place becomes available!!
my sil used to work in the other nursery in the area so i got her to phone and see if they had spaces they said they had spaces in the 2+ room but wudnt have a space in -2 til march, but to phone speak to the girl myself and see what i thought but when i phoned turns out my sil asked for 2 afternoons but i said i didnt care if it was afternoons or mornings so they had a space monday morning friday afternoon, went down today to have a look round meet the staff etc seemed alright and evan loved it screamed the place down wen it was time to go, so he goes 2moro for a wee induction without me see how he gets on all goin well he will have another induction session nxt week then start on friday
i really hope it brings him on a bit costing a bloody fortune lol but will be worth it im sure

Thanks for the reminder Michelle I have to register Wil for the pre-school he needs to go by the end of February.

It is really important that he gets into that pre-school so he has a better chance of getting into the primary school there. We are limited by where his childminder can do school runs too because we want him to stay with her until he is 11. If he doesn't get into that school we will probably end up sending him private to the school he will eventually go to at 11 but it is an extra 7 years of school fees so I would rather not.

Gill, When you say pre school is that mon thru to fri half day, as they usually won't take till children are over 3 and clean ?? Do you mean a playgroup, you drop them for 2.5 hours a couple of times a week?? Generally they have to be toilet trained too or a creche type nursery??


I have no playgroups local to me so my children go from home all day to mon to fri half day in pre school nursery class. Lewis hated it, Owen loved it so not sure what Hayden will think
