| Hahaha Kell I have that problem as I'm a bit over generous with the ingredients and end up making cupcakes with the left over batter.
Kelly I'd love to have a good run about but Amelia's at nursery, oh well I might just have to do it on my own! LOL
Mandy what did you do?!?! How did you fix it? My cake sank in the middle in the oven. No idea why and it's never happened before and nothing was any different from every other cake I've ever made. Bloody thing! |

Right now so do I Claire!!! It's usually quite easy, there are a few recipe's in the CAKE thread in cooking and baking, you should give one a whirl xx |

| It went in the bin and I started again. They usually sink either because you've opened the oven at the wrong time and cold air gets in or if you use baking powder (I don't anymore for this reason) If you're a little heavy handed with it, it gets too much air into the mix and it can't sustain itself so collapses. I had loads of cakes sinking then realised the seal around my oven door had come loose and was letting air in.
On a different note, my mixer is fab definitely recommend it! |

| AhhhhhI did open it as I forgot to take the shelf above out!!! Typical, I'd forgotten about that. I used self raising flour so it's got to be the cold air. Luckily the cake doesn't need to feed a set amount of people it's just a token, not the highlight, thank god. So I got away with levelling it quite dramatically. I'm not happy with it but I'll make sure that the customer is! |

| Aww, I hope your cakes coming together now Lisa Mandy, I noticed the FB post about your mixer the other day and its the same as my mum's. They are very good - I keep hinting for her to give it to me, cos she never uses it |
