i brush ava's teeth in the morning and evening, however most of the time she just tries to eat the toothpaste! are there any guidelines on how long you should do it for?

god i havent yet got to the stage where ive started brushing alifes teeth. must start soon! i bought him a toothbrush but he hates it so i gave him one to chew on to get used to the texture but now he just screams when i put it near his mouth!

Not actually sure if there are any 'guidelines' as such, But I have always let Moo 'brush' (chew) his brush for a wee bit then I give them a once over too, making sure I get the front and backs of all teeth
Some days he cooperates some days not!

atm i put the toothpaste on, she lets me do a little brush and then i let her chew for a bit, i'm sure it'll get harder as she gets older!

Tooth brushing is a battle for us. I put the toothpaste on and she licks it straight off then clamps her jaws round the brush while I waggle it around the general toothy area hoping for the best before she takes it off me and has a good chew! How long we spend depends on imogen's and my patience levels on any one day.
Today we had a different approach which was quite fun- she brushed my front teeth a couple of seconds then I steered her hand while we did hers a bit, then she did mine, then we did hers etc, then she poked me in the eye with it and I thought Game Over!

louis watches me do mine then i do his then he chews on it himself but past couple of days hes been m,aking himself sick with it in the bath eww haha but i think at that age there isnt a time rule of such aslong as theyre brushed xx

The rule for adults is 2 minutes so once they have a full mouth of teeth then there is no reason that rule shouldn't apply I think.

Wil cleans his teeth in the morning and I give them a quick scrub over then in the evening I do them properly. Either he cooperates and says 'aaaarggg' so I can do them or I pin him down and he screams so his mouth is nicely open.

Generally the days he doesn't cooperate are when he has new teeth coming or he is particularly tired.
