sleeved sleeping bags??? _
PostSubject: sleeved sleeping bags???   sleeved sleeping bags??? EmptyTue Feb 01, 2011 1:10 am

just wondering who/if anyone uses these? i was having a look on amazon and they don't seem to be much more than normal grobags, but have detachable sleeves...in my desperation to help elijah sleep a little better Sleep i am thinking of trying them as his arms/hands are always cold in the night, even if the rest of him is toasty and the room is warm.

has anyone used them? did they find much difference? eli is up every 45 minutes at the moment (although he is poorly), im hoping it's just a phase! but we are looking for a couple of new sleeping bags anyway Smile

I mean if your going to be relacing his sleeping bags anyway, i'd say go a head but tbh we just popped a cardy on over his growbag (either left open at the front or just buttoned once). Also if the room is warm and he feels toasty (apart from his arms and hands) it sounds quite normal..its common for the hands/feet to 'feel' cold as the temp is drawn towards the centre of the body to keep that toasty whilst sleeping Smile

On really cold nights we used to put Wil in a sweatshirt under his sleeping bag.

He now has a duvet over his sleeping bag

hmmmm i am aware that i am clutching at straws Laughing maybe i will try a cardi tonight - it's his whole arms, up to the shoulder, but his tummy/chest are cosy - i think i have just literally run out of ideas hahaha Smile

will wait a month or two and see if we can get anything in the post-winter sales (for next autumn/winter) and hopefully he will be ok in these for a couple more months although he is a lanky little boy just now!

What about a long sleeved vest under his pj's? That what we do for Moo, he has a duvet but always sleeps with his arms out. If he gets too cold he turns onto his tummy and tucks his arms under his belly Smile

he has a long sleeved vest and sleepsuit on - the room is between 17 (rare) up to 20 degrees, usually just under 19 so its far from cold..ho hum Laughing eli is the same with blankets - if i ever try to tuck him in, even when bf/napping he flaps his arms til they are out before he can settle! maybe it doesn't bother him at all hmmm Smile

I'm not sure the arms will make much difference but if you are getting some more anyway then go for it.

Kinky, they are great. Lily has worn hers from a week old x

Ta Laura I might try him in one then! Sleeping bags weren't about when I had Jake and Aron so it's all new to me!

Apologies again for the hijack

Like the other ladies have said - if you're getting new anyway then why not? But I used to do what Zee did and put a little cardi over if Thomas felt cold.

Although if Eli is flapping his arms about till they come out that would suggest to me that he prefers his hands and arms to be slightly cooler. I know if I get a bit warm in the night it helps to cool me down if I stick my arms/legs out of the duvet so maybe he's doing the same - maybe he is actually feeling too warm instead of too cold? sleeved sleeping bags??? 548646 lol - talk about confusing.

I have mixed reviews on sleeping bags. They were great for Thomas and I kept him in them until he was about 12 months at which point he was well up and about and kept trying to run in them and falling and banging his head so we swapped for duvet and pillow. Hannah however hates hers - she is such a twisty little madam and never lies still. She likes to be on her front at night so she was getting herself all tangled and getting rather fed up so I took her out and gave her a duvet and she's extremely happy now Very Happy

xx
