| hmm so elijah has been quite poorly this week (and has managed to infect all of us!) and seems to only be able to sleep on his side rather than his back, he can't seem to manage to get himself on his side when he is sleepy so i have been balancing him haha and then he wakes up if he rolls onto his back...but i was wondering if anyone else's baby sleeps on their side? is it safe by 8 months? he seems to tend towards going onto his back and hasn't so far gotten onto his front when asleep...im not sure if it's a great idea though to let him carry on being on his side now he seems a bit better? |

| Hannah has slept on her side since I stopped swaddling her at about 4 weeks. She has always just prefered it so I used to pop a rolled up sheet behind her back coz she would wake if she rolled onto her back. Lately though she has started sleeping on her front and she sleeps even better like this. I wouldn't worry about his sleeping position tbh hun - he is old enough to get himself comfy now he is rolling/crawling/standing etc

| From caitlin got mobile at 8/9 months I gave up trying to control how she slept. I always put her down on her back but let her shift about in the night and get comfy as she pleased. (Except limbs sticking through cot bars, id always untangle her if I noticed lol) I think you're crazy to start moving him about if he gets himself snuggled on his side - he doesnt sound like the best of sleepers as it is and Iv a feeling he may just show you his disgust at being moved |

| Rhys prefers to sleep on his side or tummy but so far at night I have only put him on his side. Eli is big enough now to move, roll onto his side/tummy so he will move where he is comfy no matter what you do!

| hmm ok, i think for now when i put him down i will keep him on his side (bf position no less haha), last night he woke when he rolled onto his back, he then decided to sleep on his tummy face down so i gave in and moved him a little bit too scary hopefully when hes better he will stay on his side cos i think he preferred that when he was tiny |

| Funny you should say that about being bf position! Jake and Rhys who were/are booby babies preferred side sleeping but Aron who was on the bottle from birth preferred to be on his back!! Xx |
