i was just wondering when lo's start pulling up to standing??? eli has spent today and yesterday doing it on everything - couch, table, toy box (despite a vile cold), and trying to take steps then landing on his bum! isnt it a bit early? hes only been crawling a week????? do i need to put shoes on him or is he ok in bare feet/onesies until he is walking??? also, does this mean walking is near, or can it still be a long time?? he was just a baby a few weeks ago! i never got this far in my baby books i think i was convinced things were still ages away

Sophia also started crawling at eight months and almost at the same time started pulling herself up on furniture and moving around and climbing stairs . But she only started walking on her own in October when she was 13 months so its hard to say. We thought she would be walking really early because she was so strong as a tiny baby, wanting to stand (supported) all the time from as early as three or four months but as it turns out we could hardly be more wrong! So you could maybe still be waiting for a bit..... MAndy xx

Hannah has just started to do the same hun - it's scary how fast time flies isnt it? Thomas was crawling at 7 months and like Sophia started to pull up and 'cruise' almost straight away too (and those dreaded stairs ). It is, however, a huge step from cruising to walking as it's about balance rather than strength so it's hard to say if it mean's he will walk early or not? Thomas was 10 months when he started to stand without holding on and 11 months when he started to walk. xx

hmm no definitive answers then! i suppose time will tell, he managed to pull himself up on the couch, step forwards to reach the remote control, slouch back onto his bum and crawl off with it (what is it with remote controls???!! haha) mandy, eli was the same, he has always kicked and pushed up and loves to be held upright and his legs are very powerful, he is delighted to have managed to get this far so i am happy with that for now he looks so strange and tiny to be stood up though!

ava's been doing it for a few months now , she hates sitting down and likes to stand all day long, barefoot is good for their balance which is just a well as ava's feet are too tiny for shoes!
