Ok a few years ago I had an abscess in my gum, the result was a tooth removal. There were problems when it happened and I had to have an op.

Anyway i'm now left with a gap and I hate it. Does anyone know what is likely to happen when I ask about having it filled? Does anyone know what it would be? Would it be screwed or nailed in or removable? sorry if i'm sounding dumb but i've no idea. I've not asked about it was one because of the price and two know scared of the dentist.

There are quite a few options but I only know about 2 really

Implant - my dad had these and they expensive, but very good as you usually have no issues once they are in. I was offered these but was too much of a ninny - and now regret it big time (as the insurance would have paid for it!)

Bridge - I have 4 of these due to my child dentist taking 4 adult teeth and me having 4 gaps! They are a pain in the butt! I have broken them off their joins 4 times just eating crusty bread (yeh I know I never learn!) and they are expensive if you damage them when they break.

My friend has a tooth missing at the front and he got a partial denture (not sure of the proppa name lol) but its got just the one tooth on.
But he was paying so went for the cheapest option (still at over £300 Shocked )
