just after some advice really please Very Happy

lilly still has a bottle of milk before bed and first thing in the morning, i have been trying for 6 months to get her to drink her milk from a cup and bin the bottles but it is becoming a nightmare!

every night i try the same, warm milk in her cup before bed, give it to her she looks at it looks at me and starts to ball her eyes out crying bottle bottle mummy please please, i tell her she is a big girl and she doesnt need it anymore and that big girls drink their milk from cups etc...
this can go on for about 5 mins to which she then throws the cup of milk at me or the floor and sometimes crys so much she coughs, she has a right paddy, i have tried a few times saying she has it from the cup or nothing but she wakes up about 30 mins after being put to bed and again again and again asking for milk but just wont take a cup!!

sorry if this doesnt make sense but i am reall frustrated she is the same in the morning with her milk to. she is over two and i really want rid of the bottles but i just cant not give her milk so end up giving her her bottle Embarassed

any tips to help or do you think she is ok for a little bit longer with it?

thanks xxxxxxxx

My sister had this problem with her little girl and then one day when she was about 2 and a half she just announced that bottles were for babies and she wanted a big girl cup.

I wouldn't panic yet ladies.

You could always try the 'dummy fairy' technique but for bottles and have them collect the bottles for the fairy to take to the babies then give them a reward.

I wouldnt panic either - Izzy just decided one day she would use a beaker or cup...til she decided it was a big no no and just like Lily she would have a meltdown if I came near her with milk in anything other than a bottle!

i was also going to suggest the 'dummy fairy' trick, she is probibly old enough to understand now?? tell her the bottle fairy needs the bottles for the little babies that dont have bottles, in return the bottle fairy could leave her a new 'big girl' cup she will like(pretty pink peppa pig or something Wink )

but like the others said, i wouldnt worry too much yet anyhow xx

Thomas still has his bottle morning and night and no sign of stopping yet. Tbh I'm not all that bothered. I know they reckon its bad for their teeth etc but he drains it in about 60 seconds and then off to brush his teeth and bed so I don't see what damage that will do?

I did make a half hearted attempt to get him off by saying bottles are for babies etc but I feel crap giving Hannah hers and taking his last little bit of baby comfort away. I know he is 2 but he is still a baby bless him, I just don't want to rush him into growing up - he's got the rest of his life to be a 'big boy' so a few more months of bottles isnt going to hurt Bottles..... 270211
