Would you be if this happened to you?

A luxury home bought for £1.7m in Devon just two years ago is now in danger of slipping into the sea.

Large parts of the garden have disappeared after the cliff face at Dawlish in south Devon gave way.

Teignbridge Council said it sanctioned building at the site after it was shown the property would be built on solid rock.

But the authority said the owners were given "clear advice" about natural erosion and the stability of the cliff.

They were given advice, spent their money, now cannot live there and the home is probably now worthless!!!

Yes I would be gutted but I would never buy a property so close to the sea (I think the noise of the sea would scare me at night anyway!!!)

Im sure there's loads of people now have trouble selling their homes as flooding is becoming more common in certain areas. Must be horrible being stuck somewhere.

I'm not sure if it will be covered as I'm sure it is "an act of god"

"The house I am going to buy might sink into the sea oh well I'm going to buy it anyway" Shocked Rolling Eyes I would not risk 1.7m on a "what might happen" I'm glad the people are okay though and it didn't just go in the night! xxx

Yeah, there is that guy in america who moves houses. Literally just gets the whole house up and moves it.

He has done industrial buildings too.

There is a tv show on it.... here is a church being moved (as you do!).

As for the people that built a house by a cliff edge... doh!

i agree with dilly, i dont think insurance would cover as its an act of god...

but i dont think i would want to buy a house no matter how much the cost if there was a risk it could fall down a cliff...

about house moving, there was a xmas flim on over xmas where they moved the stars house, and they litterally craned it.
