| When I start Harry's routine for bedtime its about 7.30, he brushes his teeth has a wash or bath depending on the night, has a story while he has his bottle, then the lamp goes off (landing light is still on though) and once hes finished the bottle I leave him in bed to go to sleep. He used to be so good at going to sleep, sometimes got out of bed a few times but after half an hour hes asleep. Tonight and for the past week and half hes been up for ages crying at the gate, pulling all the books off his little bookshelves, and just generally talking and chatting to himself and laughing It's taking him hours to get to sleep like tonight its been 2 hours and hes still not asleep, and hes normally up at half 7 in morning and I'm worried hes not having enough sleep as he only has an hour nap in the day, so in total hes having 11 hours sleep a day, is this enough????? I really dont know what to do!! |

| i think its a phase they go through as i have been there to the extent one night i put her up to bed at 8 and she was still chattering away at 11 she then started sleeping at her gate on the floor, she now only does this during daytime naps - I wonder if its all to do with the ha ha i can get out of bed lol
they are testing us i think to see if we will get them back up, just stick with it hun he will settle eventually x xx x |

| i have always been of the belief that they will only sleep when they need it and if they need more they will have more.
Gracie normally goes 8pm - 830am and has a daytime nap but this last week we have been refusing daytime naps which is fine, as when she was still having them she was only 8-630 and waking up 2 maybe 3 times a night x
my BIL and SIL little one same age as gracie goes to bed when he is ready normally about 10pm and always up by 6am and has not had daytime naps since he was just under a year old xxx |

| Rich was a nightmare, is find him asleep in his toy box or under his bed, or by the living room door, this was when I did the ignore technique, I would also find his navies out the happy sack, wipes out the box and of course the talc over the floor he only did this once.
It's a phrase he will soon grow out of it, just be consistent.
Rich is a bad sleeper part of his difficulties, I always found that he sleeps how much he needs too, so don't worry if you think he not having enough he will march up when needed
But I am sending a hug because I know its prolly needed , xx |

| Robert is exactly the same! He goes to bed at 7;30 and some nights he is still awake at 9 but some nights he is asleep in 30 mins, he did start going to sleep straight away for about 2/3 weeks then it stopped!! Hopefully they'll grow out of it soon. Robert doesnt have that much sleep, he goes to bed at 7:30 and gets up at 6! |

| Yep i think it sounds like a stage callums going through one at the moment he normally in bed asleep by 9pm the latest but last few days its not til 10 he will go down still getting up at 7am so only having 9hrs at night but he will have a 2hr nap during the day x but i agree with suzie in that children will only sleep for aslong as they want/need If he was that tired i think he would have a longer nap x |
