We moved house last Friday, from Sussex to Bedfordshire. First of all the day was more stressful than it needed to be for no real reason cause my sister &her bf were arguing so then i ended up arguing with my sister (we're really close and barely argue). I still don't know if we've made up. Then we get to the house and the lady who was in it before told me she cleaned the best she could but it was a complete mess. She hadn't even hoovered or taken the hair out the plug hole in the sink. Disgusting. The house absolutely stinks of cat piss as well. Been trying my best to clean and air it but I can still smell it. Next problem I go to sort out my electric/gas and the company tell me cause they messed up the last bill I now owe £220 for the old house and it's going to take till the 10th March to sort out supplying the new house. Then another two weeks after that to sort out changing from key meter to monthly direct debit. So I'm stuck on a ridiciously expensive key system til the end of March and I've got to pay £220. Then because all of the carpets are a complete mess, I'm not even exagerrating the bedroom carpets are gross, I won't even put a barefoot on it, we have to pay for new carpets or laminate. Gota do loads painting as well cause all the walls are stained. Obviously I knew these things before I moved in but now I'm here it's all so overwhelming I just feel like I'm loosing all my money on this bloody move. Think it's the hormones but I just feel like crying atm, and running home to my mum. It took a lot for me to agree to move so far as it's away from all my family and I just don't feel happy about it now we're here

| Where abouts in Bedfordshire are you Hun? I'm in herts!
I'm assuming you moved with Matt! I'm glad you guys seem to be good now! I'm sure the hormones are not helping at all. You will feel better when you've managed to sort a few bits and you've made it your home! Being awayfrom family is difficult also so don't under estimate how that's going to effect you!
Just take things a day at a time and in no time I'm sure you'll sort things out, moving is a big enough thing on it's own without everything else your going throug!

aw you poor thing, that would completely freak me out too! Manky old bat, leaving hairs in the plughole though! I know it all seems horrible and scary now, but if you can get new flooring down and walls painted it's really going to feel like your own place and hopefully you'll feel much better. It might not be easy to get there with the money and stress but it will be worth it!

I'm in Flitwick Kell. Not too far from the Herts border. Yup I moved with Matt, after my Nanna died, I decided to stop being silly and creating problems with my marriage and we had some chats and both committed ourselves to working it out and seems to be going really well atm. I think deciding to move was a big factor as we were pushing each other away to cope with being apart most of the week with him working away. Opps turned into an essay! Thanks for the nice messages I've calmed down now and jsut going to take each problem at a time. We have about £3000 saved so I know we're not going to go broke but it's just annoying having to dip into saving. I worry myself silly when really things are ok. x

Aw hun, I kind of know what you're going through - when we bought this bungalow it was a complete shithole!! There was carpet in the kitchen and because it had been empty for over a year there was a layer of mould on it (and Libby was only crawling then too), we moved in late october and the heating didnt work!! That first couple of days I just cried as we'd sold a lovely fairly new clean house and bought this. We had to literally gut the place, and I'm talking replastering, redecorating, new kitchen, new bathroom and new carpets/flooring everywhere and the garden was open to next door so had to put fencing up all around. Obviously we knew it needed work and money spending on it but were slightly naive as to how hard it would be with a baby. It took 6 months (and about £15,000 ) and I am so so glad we did it, I absolutely love this place now. What I'm trying to say is, yes it might seem absolutely awful now but when you have got it how you want it all the crap will be forgotten hun. xxx
