are you still using that book? which bits did you use? did it help? hmm? hmm? hmm??? hahaha no really, i just want to know what you think of it. so far we have just been 'gently removing' elijah haha and being consistent etc and he is going to bed at 7.30/8pm (hallelujah!) so i am getting a bit of time off which is completely amazing in itself i am also having to feed him to sleep less but he's getting up between 5-12 times a night still (although, that lower number has dropped a few hasn't it ). so i just wanna know what bits have worked for you also how is arwyn? and you? its been sooooooooooooooo long since i saw you!

I keep meaning to read it again, Arwyn was doing great but now she wakes up at least once in the night (different times) and just cries for an hour and half (last night was 2.30 to 4am! ) I can only settle her by bringing her into bed with me til she passes out then I move her back to her cot and then she sleeps right through til 8am I'm going to start trying to get her afternoon nap in her cot rather than on me, since I go back to work in less than 4 weeks I think routine, bedtime bunny and dummy have all helped. and putting her to bed awake usually has better results than putting her down asleep! Arwyn is good, still no teeth or crawling sitting is getting much better though I'm ok, think my holiday is getting cancelled though OH's gran is really ill so his dad wants to cancel (which is fair enough, but I'm still gutted!) have to wait til tomorrow to find out for sure. How is cheekychops? He looks far too grown up in that pic!!!

aww no, no holiday! couldn't you still go? maybe not if it's booked for a bigger place. will you get your pennies back??? i hope so, maybe you could still get away before you go back. eli is good, looking like a grown-up boy just now, i'm not sure how! he is busily clambering around everything and trying to bite his top two teeth through - nearly there i haven't even dared try to put elijah down awake yet, i can't take his vapours if it doesn't go right - so i'm still putting him to sleep (either feeding or just snuggling hurrah!) then sneaking him down, but the past couple of nights he has managed to put himself back to sleep a couple of times and needed one of us a couple of times...so that's improvement! bedtime bunny! i have been trying with a little blankie, a bunny...he isn't really interested at all haha but that's ok, and he won't take a dummy still (correction - he realises it's a dummy, takes it out and proceeds to wake himself up playing with it) but the routine is definitely helping loads - it's such luxury to have him in bed by 8 so i get an hour off before i go to bed (at about 9 hahaha) middle of the night crying is awful, i don't really know what you could do about that sounds horrible though, i hope elijah doesn't start with that nonsense! at least he will go back to sleep pretty quickly each time he wakes up

cos we got one big lodge for the 9 of us they need to cancel the whole thing (i knew we should have gotten our own!!) we looked to see what was available for next week but it's £300 and we can't afford it (OH's parents paid for us to go) but we'll get our money back for all the activities we booked at least! don't really want to go anyway if she's going to die, I wouldn't want OH to be away if she does! Does John put him to bed? I always find Arwyn sleeps better, or for longer, if P does it. We have 2 bedtime bunnies that sometimes I find her cuddling, or she throws them away. I put her dolly in there too which she plays with in the morning. I know she's awake cos it rattles She has little wakes but she either goes back to sleep herself or popping the fallen dummy back in helps!

nah j never puts him to bed, never has but he gets up with him in the night - he usually has his 3rd bf at bedtime and is asleep by the time he has finished (usually quite a big feed so don't really want to cut it out) so it works better for me to do it for now at least...we have sleepy doggy (gets thrown over the side of the cot) sleepy bunny (sometimes cuddled, usually thrown) and sleepy blankie (usually ignored) hahaha i'm sure he will find his own thing one day! are you starting to put arwyn in her own room yet? or are you going to do the sleep stuff first and then move her? hmm yeah the holiday would be dire if she did die, really unpleasant! do you know the name of that soft play place down at city quay? fancy meeting down there??? i don't know what it's like

no idea what's called..... was it some kind of rainforest thing?? Arwyn's not in her own room, only just put her in her cot!! I'm still in the middle of clearing out the spare room but I'd rather keep her with us til she's sleeping better (purely from my lazy point of view!) I suppose if you're still feeding him J can't help, that's why I brought in the bedtime bottle! afternoon nap didn't quite work she's asleep on me!!

haha yeah i don't fancy having to scamper to another room several times a night, although i wonder if eli would sleep better without us stomping around! no choice for now though and i like him being nearby anyway i think its pirates, or forests or monkeys or something, might pop through in the morning if you fancy it? that's if we are up fed and clothed in time for a lift haha! we are having a serious afternoon nap fail today, morning nap didn't happen til 11.30 (despite being up at half 7) and i am about to wrestle elijah into the 3rd attempt at afternoon nap - just a little snooze before tea would do! he is stood at my leg bouncing up and down just now and growling though so we shall see haha

ho hum well, a 40 minute nap at the wrong time is better than no nap at all! don't think john is at uni next friday, i will have a rummage through his timetable and see what he's doing (or i could just ask him but the timetable is more reliable )

did you find out yet? doesn't sound promising we had a pretty good night but a lame day today, eli slept for a grand total of one hour (up at 7am, bed at 8.30 after an immense amount of screaming), his top 4 teeth are all about to pop through so i am blaming that though 5ml of calpol and he is fast asleep so hopefully he gets some rest

cancelled and it's my birthday on thursday, i had awesome stuffed booked anyway........Arwyn only slept for half an hour yesterday then she fell asleep at 6 so I had to wake her after half an hour for tea. but she went to bed with no fights (for daddy of course ) I wonder when I will see some toothypegs, I want to see if the amber is working!! so I'm free towards the end of the week now (well probably just friday), we're going to redecorate the living room instead of a holiday or all of next week except tuesday

a mixed sleep review! eli was up quite a bit again but went back to sleep easily (despite thinking 4am is getting up time...ummm no!) he is pretty regular with sleep at 8pm up at 7.30 though so its just the bits in between hahaha thats rubbish about your birthday what a shame, im not 100% sure decorating is much of a treat but each to their own j is in uni 9-12 this friday - not sure if i can be organised to leave at 8 (could feed captain eli his porrige in the car hahaha) but if you fancy coming over you're welcome eli was about arwyns age when the fangs started appearing, i am still considering the amber bracelets but i want evidence!

Arwyn has had both naps in her cot today, bonus!! she went so easily I probably could have tried weeks ago We're going to buy a carpet for the living room for when she starts crawling, the rug and laminate are no good! We're getting about £250 back from all the activities we booked so that'll pay for our makeover. Cats are still going away for the week so it's an ideal time to paint! Have you got J's schedule for following week? Is he ever in all day?

awesome! i'm sure you made good use of the time i think elijah will probably manage to nap in his cot too, i slept with him on our bed today haha but he definitely sleeps better if theres no t.v or people around to be 'interesting' carpet is probably a good idea, elijah is fine on the kitchen laminate and it's easier to clean but it just doesn't look comfy. i don't think john is in all day next week or the week after - just tuesday and thursday morning and sort of late morning on friday (this week) hard life eh oooh it will be a holiday in itself to have no cats for a week! i have to say i'm impressed you have kept them - you must be much less fickle than me haha i think ours lasted a couple of weeks. i still feel quite sad when i think about them, i hope they are happy

What a slacker!! Not that I mind him being there, just if there was a day you were going to be lonely!! How about Thursday next week then (10th)? You will need to send me VERY detailed instructions so I can find my way!! The cats aren't that bad, sometimes they are very annoying but it's not always their fault. Since Arwyn started having a proper bedtime they started to come back to their previous places on our laps. But during the day the mostly get kicked out of the way, or grabbed by Arwyn!! Laminate is easier to clean but I'm fed up of the fluff balls coming off my rug and the laminate has been so badly laid that it traps your socks if you walk in certain spots

thursday is good, it's my lonliest day haha if it's nice john will have galloped out on one of his various bikes anyway, he will stay out of the way god help the poor kitties, elijah is VERY interested in rufus (one of my various cats which is now my mothers even though she won't accept him as a 'gift') but rufus just scampers off boo! i remember having laminate in a flat years ago and it was soooooooooo dusty - no matter how much dust i swept up it would keep appearing in little tumbleweeds rolling across the floor. least when arwyn is crawling you could put her in tights and watch her skate around

It's a date I'll bring Bibi's My problem is the f*cking cat litter! As soon as I've swept it up I find more that's making me want to get rid of them, I'd hate to find Arwyn eating it hopefully if we move we can have outdoor kitties!

uggghhhhhh cat litter it creeps into every element of your house - i still find the f*cking stuff in boxes and things, especially places where the cats should never have been i got away with not changing it when i was pregnant but it used to get left so long it would sting your eyes yuck i'm having a flashback oooh bibis! only if you can manage otherwise i'm sure i will be able to provide some kind of refreshment (all 3 of us bought cheese this week without realising it so....little piece of cheese? ) i will give you some sort of proper direction nearer the time well little eli has woken up twice since crashing out at half 7 and put himself back to sleep both times - hurrah i think we will start bedtime routine at 6.30 rather than 7 because he just can't make it til 8 anymore - although that lessens my chance of having any tea until 9pm greatly...unless i want tea at 4, maybe that would be a good weight-loss scheme... i have decided i will not pester john for a baby until i've lost 2 stone (at least ) and have been very proactive and enrolled in a couple of classes - more yoga, haha you will be happy you aren't being roped along

me and P have a battle of wills, see who caves first to change the tray. He has done it maybe once since Arwyn was born He was moaning that it was making him feel sick so I had to do it I only got away with it for the first 2 trimesters, he spoke to the vet when Zoey was getting a booster and he said it was ok for me to change it, grrr!!! Arwyn's been out since 7, I put her to bed thinking it was later and when I came through it was 7 and my pizza wasn't arriving til 8 Did you get the text from Claire about the saturday classes? I was tempted to text her back cos I can go to them once I'm back at work, but then I remembered I have no baby friend

hahaha that's the most pro-active lazy thing i've heard in ages you should go! i don't get texts from claire anymore after she texted a couple of months ago and i texted back to say we were moving maybe whatsherface will be there...carol? i was thinking of going to an nct group here and wondered if she might be there, but perhaps she is back at work now. least you will get to see some other mummies (is that good or bad?!) but i suppose it means you are committed to doing something on your days off (again...hmm good or bad? haha) elijah isn't getting through even one of his bedtime books now and he is starting to scream at bedtime - he could have gone to bed at 5 tonight but he needed tea and we are insisting we stick to the routine for now so he was very unhappy by the time he got to bed - i do have a slight reservation (selfish) that i don't want to start 'bedtime' too early but i think it's what he needs for now - he spends all of his time cruising around, crawling and chasing us so he is knackered very early! only a couple of months ago i was whining that he didn't go to bed til 11...will i ever be happy! |

We started putting Arwyn to bed at 8 but now she's getting sleepier earlier so it's between 7 and half past now. Sometimes she's not having her tea til 6 instead of 5 so it seems very rushed after tea to get her bathed and ready for bed. I feel like I'm filling her up too much by her having tea then a bottle but she's not spewed at bedtime since we changed her to Hipp. I'm no good at talking to people, I only ever spoke to you at the class at free time! If you weren't there I'd just play with Arwyn at a bit where there was no room for other babies plus the last few times we went it was soooooo overcrowded I didn't enjoy it.

eli has been really sick the last few nights but i think it's a combination of him eating a whole stage 2 jar plus pudding and at least a lump of cheese the boy doesn't know when to stop! and him getting the vapours at being overtired and making himself sick. either that or he's worked out that if he pukes enough he has to get changed and gets to play a bit longer hmmm that would be a bit dysfunctional! no matter how early we seem to start we always end up in a rush somehow, maybe because i insist on eating before bathtime too hmph the joy of baby classes is you don't have to make too much effort at making conversation (small talk makes me want to vomit) you can just talk about how adorable your baby is yeah, the overcrowding was vile, maybe saturdays would be better because only mummies who are back at work will go? that gross girl won't be there and i guess other people won't because they have stuff to do during the week? i sort of miss it - not that class but having something to do, i'm just not strict enough to stick to any routine without being forced into it!

Arwyn only eats about a third of a stage 2 jar, sometimes I give her half but no pudding if it's close to bedtime. Are you using Eli to get rid of the cheese? Arwyn only stops at lunchtime, it's the only meal that there's leftovers! There's always tears after breakfast and tea. I'd only be saying how adorable my baby is, I'm not interested in anyone elses baby Now you've really put me off, career mummys are the worst kind!! eugh, I'll just stay in bed!!

you are a career mummy! sort of actually possibly not. i mostly find other people's babies are not as adorable as mine hahaha but if they are pleasant enough to listen to me go on about elijah i will return the favour haha no i have even bought special sticks of mild cheese for him! who knows why, i also got some organic fromage frais cos i hate how much sugar is in petit filous and im tired of smooshing banana into greek yogurt awww maybe you should feed her more! eli has started having a 2 course breakfast and i'm getting paranoid he is eating too much now - he usually has 3ozish of milk with cereal and then half a slice of toast or a bit of yogurt or something, and finger foods with lunch and tea....spoilt baby
