Hi all had a phone call at 4pm today from my best friend who had just given birth to her little boy!!! I am so happy ffor her we had a good cry to each other! She wa due to be induced tomorrow and went in to hospital at 12 to have her bp etc done ready for tomorrow and then contract s started at 2pm and she had him at 4pm! A 2 hour labour! He was 12 days late and weighed 9lb 5oz named Harvey!

She was on shock wen she rang me as it was so quick! I get to meet the little man tomorrow I'm so excited!

eek sounds like my labour congratulations 12 days late, she must be relieved

It was her 2nd! Her first was 31 hours with an epidural as she was so exhausted! This one was done with nothing! It's crazy I still can't get over how quick it was! She had to have 2 stitches though but she is being let home at 8 tonight! Xxx

siobhan i know!! thats why when i had lilly i chose to have her at a maternity unit as you could stay for up to 7 days (i stayed 5) due to being a first time mum i was very nervous! but if i did it again i would love to be home as soon as so i could settle but i do think they get people in and out as quick as poss these days!! xxx

i went home at 1 pm the day after having elijah (at half three in the afternoon) i really really really didn't want to stay in hospital - and i caught a chest infection there! it was good to get away so soon although if i could go back in time i would have stayed another night
