| How many and for how long does your LO nap for at 2?
Izzy has had 2 naps a day since she was 1... but lately she has been really bad to get to nap in the late afternoon. She used to have an hour or so at 5pm and then have her tea.
So I've been trying to get her to have one longer nap a day... but its hard to get it right cos she still wants to nap at midday for an hour, but then needs to be up for ages before bed. So I am trying to push the nap back further but it seems to then interfere with her lunch time which is normally around 2pm.
Her routine now
9am wakes 9.15 breakfast 11.30ish snack like toast, fruit or even more brekkie 12-1 nap 2-3pm lunch 6pm tea 8pm milk and bed
What do your LO ones do now they are 2? |

| Libby doesnt nap at all and hasnt done for about 6 months maybe. She was getting to the point of taking an hour to go down and then chatting for ages at bedtime so thought we'd cut it out. It took a good couple of weeks for her to get used to it but she now sleeps from 6:30pm til 7:30-8am. xx |

| Haha, so did Simon - she used to nap in the afternoons when I worked and he would sleep too It is nice that she goes to bed at 6:30 though, loads of time in evenings to chill etc. x |

| I don't do mornings before 9 though...so she goes to bed at 8pm and gets up at 9 which is perfect.
When she naps I either lay down or do nothing lol |

| Isla doesnt nap either! If she sneaks half an hour in the car, she is a flippin nightmare to handle afterwards, so we avoid it at all costs. She goes to bed between 6-7pm and sleeps till 8-9am x |

| Sophia isnt two yet but since just after one she has had one longer nap in the day, partly ppuched by nursery but then by her at home when she was not napping properly or settling to bed with two.
She usually naps between 12 and 1.30-2ish at nursery but at home, 11.45-1.45ish on tuesday and 11.30-1.30ish on wednesdays to fit around her groups she goes to. Weekends are hit and miss but we try to make it the 12 o clock mark. If she naps much after 3 she does not settle well at bedtime, and if before eleven, is too tired by 5.30 when she has her dinner. At nursery Sophs has her lunch at 11.30 but at home, its either then if can fit it in before she needs sleep, or two o clock. If two o colck i make sure she has a good snack before sleep.
In a quandry about saturdays now though as she will have a swiming lesson bang in the middle of nap time so is gonna be problematic for reasons expressed above, I guess will try splitting the nap but not sure how that will work.
Could you try pushing it forward by just ten minutes every couple of days, so gradual, until you get it to the time you want, the time that works for both of you? Not sure if will work but could? Could you try moving lunch back before the nap? and have the snack after the nap?

| Yeh thats an idea..I don't mind giving her a snack after a nap so long as she eats her lunch well at the earlier time, probably best I don't give her the snack at 11.30.
I'll give this a go tomorrow, Thursday will have no routine at all as Im off out with my mum and when we go out she doesn't nap in the day (too nosey) but then sleeps a few hours when we get home and then wakes at about 10pm! |

| Caitlin 19mths so a bit young but here's her basic routine as night time sleep similar to izzys. 830am-9am wakes and has btl 915am breakfast *play/tv/town* 1230/1pm lunch 2-3pm put in cot for nap. Usually takes 90min but sometimes 2hrs. 530/6pm dinner 7pm btl 8pm bed I dont have a strict routine though as if her granda coming on a fri at 2pm I try and get her to nap at 1pm, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt and I end up then putting her down at 4pm when he leaves and letting her have power nap before tea. Equally if she at he nana's in afternoon she generally goes out in pram and naps on walk into town so prob has a bit less sleep. Caitlin doesnt really snack either, well she does but not at set times eg if she eats all her lunch she may get a bit of fruit/cereal bar straight after, if she fussing in morning I might get her a piece of fruit, and in afternoon after nap I might let her have a biscuit/cpl crisps to give me peace while I cook tea etc. Iv always been jealous of how much your izzy sleeps. I think im lucky to get 12 hrs at night and a 90min nap most aftenoons! |

| We are same as Susan and Lisa in that naps are for wimps as far as Lily is concerned! At nursery she sometimes has an hour in the day but normally we have to wake her at about 7.45 or we'll be late for work or she will wake on her own at weekends about 9am. She normally goes to bed between 8and 8.30pm x |

| Nope Caelyn is in the sleep is for wimps category too. She now goes to bed at 730, wakes at 6am for a bottle of milk then dozes til about 7 to 730. The only time she will take a nap these days at home is if she is in the car and has a powernap. This has ben the case for a month to 6 weeks now. On the odd occasion ive stood my ground and tried to enforce a nap she wakes up in the vilest mood possible and its not worth the hassle. Id prefer she had kept napping so i got some quiet time but tbh im not willing to take the trade off for her starting to get back up at 545 again. No nap equals a half decent nighttime sleep, Id so hoped she would nap for another 6 months to a year too for when Awen comes, guess im shit outta luck lol! |

| Tayla was great at naps she went at 1-2pm ish for 2 hours on the dot every day, unless we were out then she would usually fall asleep in the car on the way home or when we got back... But since last week since she got ill shes refusing (thought they were meant to sleep more when they are poorly??) but by dinner time shes falling alseep in her highchair! Hopefully we can get her back into naps though, i very much look forward to 2 hours of peace...do to housework or just be lazy! |

| Welllllll I've been poorly today so Ive not been in charge but she went for her nap at 3pm and slept til 6pm...BUT is only just going to bed now, normally 8pm
So that was quite good really! If she does that but goes to bed earlier it would be ok |

| When Oliver hit one I found he was getting fussy with 2 naps a day - so over a couple of weeks I cut his morning nap out and for a week or so he was sleeping through lunch but managed to do it like Mandy said and just put his nap time back 15 mins each day and has been like that for a year now. I'm not sure how we'd cope if we didn't have nap times lol Olivers is very much like Deb's Thomas - Wakes at 8am (although he usually wants potty now at 7 - cheeky monkey!) BFast Snack - 10am'ish Lunch - 11.30'sih (have brought this forward as he eats tea much better ) Nap - 1.30-4pm Tea - 5.30/6pm bath 7.15pm Bottle and potty 7.30/7.45 << then bed, Phew!! What a day! lol Oliver can quite happily go with out a nap too as on wednesdays he has an afternoon play group and he's fine without - but does go to bed earlier on them days. Its me that needs the quiet time more than anything |

| Bethany is in nursery Monday to Wednesday and has a nap for about an hour after her lunch but since Christmas she will not have one at home. I think she only goes for a nap in nursery as she sees her friends going asleep. Most of the time Bethany is ok with not having a nap on the days she is at home and ususally when she hasn't had a nap will be in bed between 7 and 7.30 on the nursery days she is usually 8/8.30. xx |

| Wil is pretty consistent but he has his moments
up at 5.30 - 6.30 run around like a maniac 12.30/ 1 - 2.30 -3 nap run around like a maniac 7-7.30 bed
without the nap he is generally not nice to know after about 4.30 and ends up in bed at 6.
I just need to knock the 5.30 am starts til a consistent 6.30 then all will be well. |

| braden stopped napping just before two - i have no idea why cos he lays on the sofa like a zombie for a lot longer then he would if he just went to bed for an hour - but if i put him up he stays awake, have left him up there an hour n half before just seeing if he would give up, but no, he wont so we quit the naps, much to my dismay lol x |

| Harrison has been having 1 nap a day from about 10.30/11.00am for about an hour an a half but recently it has taken him ages to fall asleep then I have to wake him for lunch and he gets grumpy. Also if he's had a good sleep in the day when he goes to bed at 7pm he is chattering away for ages and wakes around 6.15/30am so we tried not giving him a nap yesterday and he went to bed at 7 and didn't hear a peep from him until I went in his room at 7.45am, so I think we will carry on doing that but if he's in the car he will sleep which makes him ten times worse! |
