| Chel wants make up on all the time now. So i have said she can wear mascara and lip gloss for school and maybe a little eyeliner and eyeshadow outside school. But absolutely no foundation or blusher. Now she thinks i am being really unfair and often come home from school with eyeliner on!
Some of her friends wear a face full of slap all the time which looks terrible but i think i am being fair?? |

| Can i ask why certain make up and not others? I used to wear just foundation and mascara (still do) at that age. I know what you mean about the girls with full face of slap though |

| She has really pale skin and it just looks odd when she wears the foundation etc, also she has a perfect complexion at the moment and i dont think she is mature enough to look after her skin if she wore the face stuff so would probs end up with spots xx |

| Thats fair enough, tell her she is a very lucky girl not to need it and all her friends who do wear it will end up with horrible skin!

| Thing is pinky shes doesnt just want tinted moisturizer, she has tons of freckles on her face, and they get worse the warmer the weather gets, (i think they look lovely, she hates them) so she wants troweled on foundation to cover them up xx |

| I agree mascara and lip gloss and thats it - thats what I was 'allowed' (as in got away with, cos my mum didn't really let us use anything) and I think its fair cos its not 'makeup' as such on their skin I do remember being that age and hating whatever my mum said cos she didnt seem to care what I looked like - I still don't understand that because I know how Izzy will feel at that age and if some little thing helps her feel more accepted/comfortable about herself then I will do it.... without allowing her to go OTT I do think parents (mine for sure) never thought how I felt about things (like the glasses thing ) and the way my mum cut my hair got my picked on a bit) ... dunno I just know I wont be like for Izzy, cos looking back certain things really got to me (and as you know I am not exactly a shrinking violet so it can be hard for anyone, I imagine worse for kids who are already shy/lack self esteem) EDIT I just read why she wants to wear foundation... and so really what Ive said above is more relevant than my first sentence! What about trying a bit of powder foundation, and saying so long as she just puts it on lightly she can use it? |

| You see i think i am quite a cool mum.
I let her have her hair the latest stlyle and colour, she wears cool clothes etc, i just dont want her trying to look older than she is with make up, and want to encourage her to be happy with her own body, face etc xx |

| My sister is at the same sort of age and has been wearing more and more make-up. I think you ate fair. Tinted moisturiser is quite good, she could do what I do. I'm not a big make-up person so wearing tonnes makes me look odd. I mix tinted moisturiser with normal creme foundation, it doesn't look so fake and caped on but gives more than just a slight tint. Maybe take her to a boots counter or somewhere similar and see what they suggest? |

| Hey hun. As you know(remember the proms lol) Emily is the same age as Chelsea and I have already been through it with Mollie ha ha and Megan to come in a few years!!! To be honest I have always had problems with Em, but not in a horrible way, just with confidence. You couldn't get 2 more different sisters in that way. Mol has bags of confidence but Em is forever saying she hates her hair, face body etc etc. Anyway to get to the point!! I let her wear makeup and yes even to school but for her it makes her feel more confident. She doesnt slap it on or anything, she mixes moisturiser with her foundation and its fine. She is pale too so has the lightest ever foundation. If it helps her feel better about herself I am happy to let her. Obviously if she was wearing loads I wouldn't be happy but its quite subtle with her so I think its fine. |
