| ...for caelyn to show hand preference. Since about 10 months old shes always favoured her left hand. She holds her fork in it to eat, she draws the her left. Not just once or twice but literall 90% of the time. Ive read hand preference isnt set for ages yet but im a lefty and my mum said i did the same right from early on.
Im fairly ambidextrous bar writing which is my left but if c is gonna be a leftie who is left dominant which she seems to be at the mo id like to make sure she has the stuff she needs to make life a bit easier for her (eg when she starts using scissors etc) as being a lefty in a right hand world can suck some days. You dont realise how right hand domintaed the world is until you watch me trying to butter bread - the serrations on most knives are the wrong side so i tend to shred bread and cutting it is a nightmare - i cut wedge shaped bits of bread. And pans! Grr i hate puring from pans
Anyway that seems to have turned into a side rant so i'll get back to my original qu.Anyone elses LOs already showing hand preference? |

| Yes Tayla defiantly prefers her left hand too, ever since she had control of her hands it would be her lefty that came out to pull her dummy out! Shes uses both to draw though ive noticed but has always used a spoon in her left hand. Lukes a lefty too, does it usually run in families or just a coincidence? The hardest thing about have an oh for as lefty was passing a newborn back and forth lol!

| I don't think its too early, if she is using that hand most often then she is probably left handed, I do think it runs in family's tho as my mum is left handed and so am I and my twin sister.
Although I have to say I am more right handed than my sister she has to do everything left handed but I think I am very ambidextrous and I have learnt to use my right hand for most things just for ease. |

| I don't think it's too early either, Libby has got a preference for her right hand, she uses a spoon/fork with her right and holds a pen/crayon in her right, she also sucks her right thumb. I'm also left handed but I can do everything right handed too - although writing is far neater left handed xx |

| I did a post like this a few months back as Oliver tended to favour his left hand over his right, when drawing, eating etc.
Its only been the past couple of weeks (since he's been feeding himself full-time) that I have actively been encouraging his right had as he does eat better with that one..has much better co-ordination especially when eating from a yoghurt pot etc. x |

| Izzy does most things with her right hand, like drawing...but she often uses her left hand for the fork/spoon, but that is an easy thing to do with either.
I'd she she was right handed, always seems to have been that way, so probably not too early to tell |

| What age are they supposed to show their preference?
Aimee will always be right handed... according to the hospital staff she is stronger on her right side due to her blood pressure on her left, so will naturally grow up to be right handed.
