| I need yet more advice on E today. ok, so she goes to bed anywhere between 6 and 7, sleeps very very well, we give her the dream feed between 9.30 and 10.30. she goes straight back down but 2 hours after i go to bed no matter what time that may be she wakes up, she doesnt cry just moans, pulls dummy out etc. for example sat fed 9.30, i went to bed after midnight, she was p at 2.40, i fed her since it was 5 hors since feed and she took 6oz sunday, dream feed 9.30 i went to bed about 11, she woke at 1, dummy in at 1, 1.30 and 2am, finally gave in and fed her at 2.30. last night, dream feed at 9.30, i went straight to bed, she was up at 11.30 adam dealt with her to let me slepp and it was 12.40 when she went back off, then up again at 3.30 for feed. she is then up everyday at 6am (poo) but generally doesnt want a bottle til 7.30/8am then wants to go back to sleep. i am exhausted and am getting to the end of my sanity now, if adam hadnt dealt with her last night i think i would have gone crazy. there's just no pattern!!!!! i just dont know what to do, aart from go to bed at 7 when they are both in bed

| Hmmmm, ok. Has she ever gone through the night? Even once? It seems to me like she is being a little madam and perhaps taking the milk because she knows she will get it. How much does she have in the day? Enough to get her through the night? Maybe swap the milk for water and see what she does. If its not yummy milk, she may realise its not worth waking up for. When Lily went through for the first night, that was it. I was stubborn and once I knew she could do it, I jumped on it. I spent a couple of nights with my hand on the dummy over her mouth, waiting for her to spit it out. They were long nights, but they really worked, and now she is great. x |

| Yeah i agree she sounds like she's playing mummy and very well.have u tried not giving her a dream feed and see how long she goes.from your other post it seems as if she is getting enough milk to go through the night so she must be playing up.go with trying water.and i would be stubborn and not feed her during the night if u do give her a dream feed.i know you say she is taking 6oz during the night but if she's gonna get it-she's gonna drink it!persevere with the dummy and gentle shhhing.she could be waking out of habit?it must be really hard with two babies!i hope she settles for u soon hunny x |

| she has done about 3 times.
have tried water just wakes her up even more and then she really does cry, i really dont mind the night feeds (at a psh) its the waking for an hour at a time i cant cope with, she doesnt cry, have tried leaving her but after an hour have gone and put dummy in, she then goes of but wakes again.
thanks laura.
it getting depressing cos we cant go anywhere cos no one wants her overnight or we cant go out and let our hair down cos we have to get up 3/4 times a night and then 6am for the day! |

| I got a book called The No Cry Sleep Solution which I found really useful. Even if you don't follow it exactly there's some really useful info in there that you can use for your own routine. I managed to get Arwyn going from feeding every 2 hours to waking maybe once in the night and settling with a dummy |

| i second what pixel said, that book is really good.....elijah is down to being up 5-8 times a night instead of 10+ and is in bed at 7pm rather than midnight so....although e doesn't sound quite so bad there are probably a few things you can do to help her out. it depends really on what route you take, i refused to let elijah cry alone in a bed - maybe that's why he doesn't sleep that well, but then he never has. i also agree with pinky that naps might be the key, i also have the tracy hogg sleep book that you can have if you want it - it's small but quite helpful (although i preferred the no cry personally) |

| I do think naps have a lot to do with it, when she had her upset tm she had 2 days off sleeping during the day and slept through during the night.
she is rubbish at napping as she is a light napper and even in the cot Alice usually manages to wake her
she might have 2 hours all day |

| I would try a dream feed a little later say 10/10.30 then if she wakes I would just leave her as long as you know she isn't hungry. She may still need a feed Round 4/5am, I know L did for a while but when he started to not want his 7am bottle I knew he didn't need that early morning feed so I stopped it and after a few nights he got fed up winging and slept xx |

| thats the thing Amanda, she doesnt always have a morning bottle til she has been up over an hour so i dont think she 'needs' that feed. i am sure she could go through just chooses not to i should complain too much cos she goes down a dream, Alice we used to have to sit with for up to 2 hors then use cc to break the habit. i literally put E in the cot, stroke her head and walk out! Mari, could i borrow the book please, will see how we get on. thanks for the input ladies, you are a great help, and if all else fails, laura, i am booking you in for a week |

| Ok, so night one went like this
dream feed at 10, 4.5oz
2 am dummy, 3 am water (sip) 4 am dummy, 5 am water sip 6 am up, but she has still only had a 4oz bottle since she got up and looks like she is ready to drop back off again!
so no night feed, lets see how things go in the next few nights see if we can break the cycle |
